I'm planning on putting a 2.7t with Tip into my 99 A6 Avant. I have been oddly unable to find what the final drive ratio is in the car currently. I know I need a 3.51 for the swap and imagine the final drive in the car is the wrong ratio.
The Frickin' Bentley manual has no information on the ratios whatsoever. The only thing that book is good for is to hold doors open and the wiring diagrams...
Thanks in advance...

FYI: The ratios (and other specs) posted in those audiworld spec sheets are frequently WRONG.
I don't know if they are wrong in this particular case, but they are absolutely wrong for my 01 allroad tiptronic...

What is the correct final drive ratio for the '01 allroad tip?

I don't actually know, I'd guess somewhere around 4.111

The 5th gear and final drive are both wrong at the very least.
Unrelated, that site also says that a B7 S4 Avant is 52/48 % weight distribution which is totally wrong. That car has a heavy V8 in the front and is more like 60/40. Those spec sheets cannot be trusted.
