I have some expensive wheels and I'm searching for a shop w/ a touch free machine. Anyone have any recommendations for a shop in the area?

I mean, its not a car wash. In the 6 years in the field i have never seen a "touchless" tire machine. Just find a competent shop (not a firestone or other chain type company) and you will be fine.

Actually, i just googled a "touchless" tire machine. I have seen those, but dont understand whats so touchless about them. They still have arms and roller wheels to mount the tires.

Appreciate the reply, but you didn't really help, just kinda added clutter to the thread. These machines are around and help those of us that don't want to trust thousands of dollars in wheels to just anyone. Once a wheel is nicked, there's no going back, especially on painted wheels
Found a couple, but the more the merrier

It's a chain but most Town Fair Tire stores have a touchless machine and they have locations throughout New England.

yes there are touchless machines. meaning no old school bars and metal pieces touching your wheels. we have the hunter touchless, and a roadforce balancer.

Steer clear of Town Fair Tire. I know far too many people that have had wheels damaged there, simply due to lack of care, myself included. Sometimes if you want the best technology when it comes to wheel care, even told by other tire shops, is to use your local Audi dealer or a very good indy shop like Rick mentioned. Where ever you end up, just let them know you are very particular and want someone skilled doing the job. Best of luck.
