I am fairly new to Audi, purchasing my first car, an RS5 in November of 2013, from Audi of Plano. Throughout the process of purchase and the wait, I always felt that my sales rep was somewhat arrogant due to the fact that I had no where else to purchase the car and had no choice in paying MSRP. It really did not bother me and is no my big issue, but it's the start of my journey with Audi of Plano. As soon as my car came in, my rep was pretty good and the delivery went well. One thing that rubbed me though was that he kept mentioning the survey I would receive on my purchase experience and the dealer as a whole. Saying things like, please give me a good rating or they basically fire me, ha ha. I left it alone, but when the survey came, week later I did not fill it out as I wanted to wait sometime before assessing my experience. In the mean time, within a few weeks of purchase me sales rep emails me asking if the car is good and asking to fill out the survey, I ignore him. But about 3 weeks later he emails asking if I know anyone interested in buying an Audi and asking for references, oh yeah and do I have any questions. I actually did and asked him about the remote control garage door opener, I was having issues. I never heard from him. I thought whatever, typical sales guy, I am in sales, I get it, sort of. I figured I was doing some mods in a few weeks and I will have them help me then.

Late December I finally have all of my parts for mods and decide to email the service advisor I was introduced to 4 weeks before to get a quote and schedule some time. I send the email, wait about 10 days, receive no response and decide maybe I should just swing by and check on things. I go to the Audi dealership first week of January and ask or my advisor. I am told he no longer works there anymore?? OK, fine, but I never got a bounce back. Whatever... I finally speak to an advisor, tell him what I am looking to do and need a quote. I find the advisor somewhat disoragnized and only mildly interested in what I am asking for, but whatever... The guy looks up my info, verifies my stuff, writes down on a sticky note what I need and says he will call me with details the next day. I reaffirmed with the guy to make sure he was going to call me, he says YES! I wait 5 days, no call. I drive down to the dealer and this time I am not thrilled but am keeping cool. I ask for a manager. "Mitch" is introduced to me and we go into his office. I tell him my whole story, calmly and professionally. Mitch is VERY apologetic and sincere which I appreciate. He gives me his card and personal cell number and then takes me to the new service director at Audi Plano and tells him to care of me based on my story. Before he leaves he tells me he appreciates me being calm, cool and understanding, stating he would not have been if it had been him. I talk with the service Director and we exchange cards with our info and he takes down my requests and states he will me the next day to take care of it. This was 5 days and they still have NOT called me. I am furious and cannot believe they have treated me like this. All I want is an oil change, a brake fluid flush, brake lines installed and my Alu Kruez put on. I do not want a new engine or a turbo charger!!

First off I am writing this to warn others of the terrible experience I have had over there. I am guessing the Autonation thing is not going well and they are having growing pains. Regardless, this sucks!! The RS5 is awesome but I am very unhappy!

I am in need of some advice. I have called the GM of the store and left a message, I will talk with him, but should I go to Audi of America as well? What about Autonation?

I will NEVER buy another Audi from Audi Plano and suggest others steer clear...

Not quite like that...but yeah I don't think I would ever go back either. I started looking for a new car about 8 months ago and walked in when it still was a Boardwalk store and everyone was really nice. Sales guy (same one I worked with the entire time) was cool and basically let me test drive everything on the lot as I didn't know what I wanted to get. Few nights he even stayed late working with me on all of the questions I had. We went back and forth over emails so I felt ok.

Fast forward to this past Christmas holiday and I am ready to buy. Same sales guy is there so I am still talking to him and he tells me about the AutoNation buy out of the place. I don't think he cared for it to much. I had emailed in details and pics of my trade and I get an email estimate on the value and come in to look at it, so it might be more. Finally get down to working out the pricing details.....MSRP on the car and they tell me $4k less on my trade than THEY emailed me on. Back and forth, back and forth....and I won't bore you with all of the details on everything that happened in between but I finally got them to a somewhat normal price on the trade and to come off $1500 on the SQ5. Leave to get my wife while they prep the car...only to come back and now the payments are higher because the loan rate wasn't the same (keep in mind I did the approval process 2 weeks prior and everyone was suppose to be "LOCKED IN. Finally I just say give me the keys to my old car, we are leaving. It was already an hour after close on a Saturday, and they spring this on me after an hour round trip back to McKinney and back to the dealer. Now they have all of the time wrapped up in it so I get another $1250 off the price of the SQ to make the payment the same but the rate went up. That didn't bother me to much, as I had already checked with my bank on rates prior to going and it was lower so I just transferred the loan to my bank on Monday.

During the entire process they:
-Lied about contacting my bank....my rep who I have worked with for 10 years said they never called about the sale or to check about the loan with them
-Never checked on other SQ5's in the area that had more of the options that I wanted, not the more loaded ones on the lot
-Lied about the trade value
-Lied about the interest rate and monthly payments
-Washed it with I can only guess was a swirl machine as I am having it stripped and detailed to get all of the marks out of the paint now
-Had almost no clue about the SQ5 other than it had a special steering wheel and more HP

If I had anything good to say is that the sales guy I worked with was nice to me enough, and did give me a few free tanks of gas and some 'free' things after it was all said and done....on top of that I helped them sell my car I traded in......what did I get for that? Yeah big fat 0.

So I'm right there with you..

In fact I do like the car and the brand so much that I'm going to be working on bringing in some Audi service, and performance parts to the shop I work at now just because I would never take it there for anything even to get a key chain.

Sounds like a nightmare. We just purchased an SQ5 from Audi Plano as well at the end of January and it started out to be a decent purchase process but we tend to steer clear of them now. We live in downtown Dallas where Audi Dallas is much more convenient for us to go to but Plano had the SQ5 we wanted and they don't trade with each other.

^^^^^^^^^^ I agree. I had a very bad experience with audi dealership in Richmond, VA. They broke my trim on my S4 while it was in for servicing and they tried to glue it back. I wasn't having it and expressed my concern to AOA and sure enough the dealership got on their knees and smiled like a donut.

Wow these stories sound terrible. I'm moving back to Plano soon and I would hate that the only Audi dealer near me are filled with a bunch of douches.

For warranty issues I will take the rs5 to dfw audi. All other work is going to Boardwalk Ferrari. Their rates are the same or cheaper than aud Plano and they have an audi tech on staff. They did all my work for me, great experience with their service. Too bad I cannot afford their cars, a 458 would look great in the stable. Alas, back to my RS5...

So the guys at Boardwalk Ferrari can do the work too? That is good to know, I think. Friend of mine bought a 599 from there and they have been very good of taking care of work being done to it.

I had an oil change, changed my brake fluid, put in stainless brake lines and had my Alu kruez stabilizer put in for $450 at Ferrari. When audi Plano finally got back to me they wanted 1400 to all of that!?! Ferrari even gave me a loaner car, washed the car properly, etc. the follow up from Steve Fordham over there is awesome.

Interesting. Didn't know Ferrari would service audis. Dfw audi seems very far from plano. Oh well, I like doing my own work any time I can.

This is unfortunate - I had a similar experience with sales rep constantly asking about the survey, but my experience in service has been great so far. i know they are expanding right now and trying hard to accommodate all the growth, but there are only so many service advisors. Also, I know auto nation has let go of many great people there and the dealer as a whole isnt happy with the change.

Side note, did you notice much of a change with that Alu Kruez installed?
