So I've been on the forum for a few hours researching and pricing out tunes and which ones would work best. And I haven't been able to come with much except that GIAC pretty much put up the biggest numbers. I think its B.S to pay a shop 800 to just flash software onto my ECU. IF I'm going to pay that kind of money I want them to put it on a dyno and map it out exclusively. So my question is does anyone have any opinions on tuners or shops in Oregon that they stand by or should I just gargle that 800?

Nefmoto. Search that through google youll get to their site. I know theres a number if guys using that software. Youll need some hardware cable to flash your ecu. Download the software and make some contacts with a few other members who are already equiped. Im sure someone can hook u up with a base tube file. And tweak it from there. I havent used it myself but ive read numerous successes.

I think someone needs to bench flash it first for the immobilizer, then after that you can just flash new files with the obd2 cable.

I don't think so. I've flashed a stock ECU through OBD2 without doing anything with the IMMO.

A6/allroad? Or in an S4?
S4's dont have IMMO so you can flash it with Nefmoto without getting rid of immo first.
I think I remember hearing that you CAN flash an allroad ECU (still with IMMO) using OBD2 and nefmoto, but there is a high risk of bricking.

It was an allroad.

Interesting....Ive heard that allroad ECU's like to brick on their virgin flashing via OBD2
Im hardly an expert on flashing though

So do I have to bench IMMO or not? Its a 2001 AR 2.7TT tip. 3in catless dp, 710N DVD and a built torque converter

It'll be fine as long as the immobilizer is adapted to the car.

If you end up needing to get a dyno tune there might be some reviews in the regional forum or on nwquattro.com.
I've been curious about the nefmoto route myself.

I was told the same thing but tried it anyway and mine worked fine the first time over obd2, 01 allroad 4Z7907551K.
