I was trying to remove the radiator hose from the secondary radiator. The hoses do not want to move. The area is tight so getting a good angle on them is tough. I had a flat head in the hose trying to break the bond but I can not get it over the end of the radiator nub that is ribbed for no ones pleasure. I found a tool that looks like a bent ice pick. Anyone else have a tool that they recommend?

Im guessing you are talking about the upper radiator hose? There is a metal clip that fastens the hose, remove the clip and pull hard.

I removed the clip. This is for the second radiator that is found behind the fog lights on the passenger side of the S6. I will pull it all apart again once the bad memories pass, and try it again. I was doing it while sick so the kung foo grip was down a little.

Personally I do not like messing with the plastic junctions / pieces in the engine bay; such as the PCV system and the cooling system connections. I always look for a different way first- if there's a way to take the hose OFF the connection by pulling a clamp or something I go that way first. Even if it's messier. I even hate opening the radiator drains- so afraid that turning it just barely too hard will BREAK something expensive and hard to fix. It's ridiculous, but I've seen VAG radiators CRACKED where those connections were supposed to let loose. Just an ounce too much force and now you need a new one.
Anyway....just an option, because as it's intended it should come apart easily.
