Hi guys I've got the two codes p0340 and p0011 that are causing a check engine light. For a while Ive only had p0011 (Advanced timing) this was on for a few months I've tried changing the N205 and cam position sensor but nothing. Then yesterday the other code popped up p0340 (cam position sensor) I really don't know what to make of this Ive searched and really couldn't find anything for the B7 platform. The car had the timing belt done at 121xxx and it currently as 137xxx. The cam follower was changed at 135xxx (idk if that changes anything) the Cel didn't turn on until after the change of the cam follower. could it be the cam chain tensioner/chain? or something else? I'm all out of ideas and don't really want to throw any more money at the car unless its a guaranteed fix.
Thanks in advance.

its running fine no problems yet besides the cel
i have the SAME EXACT codes right now. been driving with it like for about 2 weeks with no problem. i took my car in to have them check my cam follower before i hit 120k and i ask the service tech what hed recommend about those codes and he basically told me what i already read on the internet, oil/oil filter change and a new N205 valve. ive also read that possible timing is off by a tooth or two, check your timing.
planning on doing the oil change and valve this weekend or next.
keep us updated on what you do. subscribed to your thread.

Well I've been fearing that the timing chain tensioner may have been going, so I pulled the head to check it out and my suspicion was right on the money. The chain tensioner is not springy at all and is not like tension-able at all. I was able to easily to push it together with a single finger with barley any force. Im getting the parts tomorrow from a local shop hopefully and should be back on the road by the end of the weekend. I'm also pulling the block to do the rings, rear main seal (its leaking) and bearing as well as clean out the oil pan while I'm under there. Anything else I should do while its out?

Why not do rods while you're in there? Then you can slap on a BT down the road. [:D]

I'd love too but don't really wasn't planning on going that deep into the engine.
But I do plan on getting a new clutch and flywheel. Anyone have any recommendations? Preferably something that shouldn't cost much for shipping and can be shipped quickly (I know its most likely not gonna be that way)
