Hello Everyone!
My car currently has 75k miles on it and the oil is changed every 5k with Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w40. Well, last night was extremely cold out (9 degrees) and I went to start my car to do my normal drive home from the train station and everything was fine. About two minutes later the Oil Pressure warning started to appear and flash while the engine starting making a loud knocking type sound and when I accelerated it sounded as if it was running dry (no oil). A couple minutes later and the CEL illuminated and remained solid. After about 10 minutes when the car started to warm up, the oil pressure light went away and the engine sounded completely normal and the car was running fine with no issues. Once I got home, I checked the oil level which was completely normal and then let the car sit overnight. This morning, in the same weather (10 degrees) I started my car as normal and drove to the train station except with no issues at all. However, the CEL is still illuminated and when I have some time this weekend I will have it scanned to see what code triggered the CEL.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what this might be?
