View Full Version : New B7 owner, kind of.

After 6 months of lurking I'm finally a b7 owner. Yesterday I called this auto dealer Auto House to purchase a B7 with 6 speed and Nav. Well they informed me they had just sold it. I was pissed of. So I was determined to get a B7, so I continued to search dealers. Well I ended up south of Boston and found a beautiful B7. But it wasn't what I wanted. Auto, 3.2 with no Navigation. But I started talking to the dealer and he informed me it had all options but navigation and was a Texas car. Its lowered and the suspension was tight. Factory 18's with HID. So I purchased the car after the test drive. I left there straight to get insurance but had to go straight to work. Well this morning when I went to get my paperwork to register the car, the folder was missing with the title and insurance paperwork. FML. So I have a B7 but no plates. The dealer is very helpful and sent out for a duplicate asap. The only problem is the title has to come from Texas to Massachusetts. Also I spent the last six months reading about 2.0t 6 speeds and got neither. Now I have.to do some research on this 3.2 motor and the tip w/ paddle shifter and iPod hookup in glove box. Also if anyone has a Vag locally I appreciate if we could meet up once the title situation is resolved. I live in Roxbury but work in Beacon Hill. BTW I'm the worst writer. I learn for watching and not reading so its hard to write my thoughts down. ADHD

Clean car but i feel bad. You should have held out for the car you wanted man. At least 2.0 6MT. You seem like you're going to want to mod it quite a bit and with the 3.2 there is not all that much to do other than aesthetics.

Not to sound like a jerk but it seems like this was a rushed decision. You were waiting months to find a car you wanted and then you found one, they had sold it, so you just went and bought a car that you didn't really want?

I know of at least 2 low mileage manual B7 A4 2.0's for sale within an hour from Boston. The 3.2 is a nice motor but if it's mods you are looking for, you are going to be limited vs the 2.0 models.

I think I'm out of the go fast stage considering I valet at night. I drove this TTS tonight. So I get my speed fix whenever I need to. Plus with a child around, Modding not really a priority.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/08/gedyhy4a.jpg

BtW is my car lowered from factory suspension or aftermarket. Also does anyone know what kind of wheels I have, they're 18s.

I would assume it's stock sport suspension with the stock 08 sline wheels.

Sweet car! The only thing I could do without is the black interior. How many miles are on it?

As long as the car was maintained mechanically and you are satisfied with the 3.2L's current performance, you should be very happy. The exhaust note is SEX! RS4 Sway Bar is the best bang for the buck mod.

What he said^^^

I love my 3.2. I would suggest looking into the carbon deposits, i opened mine up just for shits and gigs several months back and it was pretty damn bad. Cleaned the bitch up all nice and put a catch can on. Mine is a 6MT though and im glad it is

Congrats! The 3.2 is a smooth engine and the exhaust is great. Lack of mods will save you money, an RS4 swaybar will be a great purchase ^^^

We could always supercharge a 3.2L if someone wanted to leave their car with us for a little while [:D]

Make it do this:

But is the engine rates past 400whp?
Send it to jhm for a biturbo kit! Go big or go home!

But can you make a double turbo kit for the 3.2??? Let's find out!

Wait... am I reading that you valet/drive other people's fast cars, fast? Or you mean you at least get to respectfully cruise in cars that are capably fast?

I can't imagine someone being satisfied with the power of a 3.2 though. Half the time I'm underwhelmed by my modded 4.2. [>_>]

We built twin turbo B6 S4s in the past. Money is the only factor and we have the capability doing what ever it is you desire.

What's that kind of kit run? With a bottom end build?

Our built bottom end is $10.5k heads are $3.5k new timing components are $2-5K and all the fabrication and labor with tuning and other fueling odds and ends you are damn near $50k.

I owned a 3.2 Tip for 5 years and loved it. I did go with Unitronic to fix the underpowered problem though. I also did a resonator delete on the exhaust after dumping money into a custom one. The weight of the car is something to get used to but, you will forget it's a front heavy boat within a month. Gas mileage will be horrible if you sit in traffic but trust me, once you tweak the engine, throw on a RS4 sway and open the exhaust just a little, or you can just go all out on the mods, you won't regret your decision.

I currently have a B7 2.0T Tip. Went with test pipe, APR and resonator delete. There's a noticeable difference in weight. This car flies without feeling it. 3.2 just felt a little more solid than my current. But again, this is my opinion. Having owned both, if I could find a fully loaded 2008 or 2009 3.2 with less than 30K miles on it, I'd sell the 2.0 and go for it despite the endless mod possibilities with the 2.0 and extremely limited 3.2 options.

Interesting opinion you have there! Definitely against the grain.

Ooooh how was the unitronic?

It was only a 13hp gain and +15 on the torque but it made such a difference. Didn't have any issues with the car other than what was normal for miles/age. Loved it.

This has been done before, I saw him at SOWO it was STOKES friend. Thing was sick. Congrats on the car man, looks good!.
