Hey all...

Today I was driving in the snow, and I had an unexpected encounter with a curb. Long story short, I hit the curb from the driver's side, my driver side front wheel cleared the curb, but my passenger side wheel nailed it pretty hard (curb nailed the wheel from the inside, from underneath the car). I got out and the front passenger side wheel was rubbing my fender, and I picked up this guy from the ground nearby.

Here are some pictures from behind the wheel, as best as I could get. It was dark and I couldn't get my car on a jack tonight. I'll try to get some better pictures tomorrow. Can anyone see anything that jumps out at them, and can anyone attempt to make a diagnosis on the issue? These pictures are all taken from the front side of the wheel, facing the rear of the car.

I don't know if I have axle damage, control arm damage, or just suspension damage. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I know that I will likely need an alignment after it is all said and done. I'm bringing her into a shop on Monday, but would like to get an idea for the extent of the damage before that. Thanks everyone.

That steering spindle that is broken is nearly $500 list price. Start looking for a used one www.car-part.com. Your mechanic should be able to tell you if there is more damage besides the spindle and lower control arm.

thats not the front axle that is the spindle/knuckle and lower control arms damaged. what you picked up was the ball joint form your front lower control arm after it was ripped out. you will need new lower arms and new spindle/knuckle based on the pics. there may be more damage
