Got a diagnostic and pulled code p1796, thoughts?

Finally got a diagnostic ran on my A4. The code came up P1796 something about a TCM short. I tried googling it and searching the forums but haven't found anything. Has anyone had experience with this? Im trying to determine what parts if any I can purchase myself to save money on repairs.

Symptoms: The car feels jumpy in between shifts. When releasing the clutch there is a slight jerkiness. Thats the best I can describe it.

I googled it and found it's a VSS short to ground. Might be as simple as replacing the VSS sensor. Post your vehicle specifics and someone else can probably help more.
