Hey guys,

I recently bought the Eibach pro kit spring set and B5 perches and took them to a reputable suspension place to get them installed on my A4 Quattro S-line with oem sport shocks.

Eibach Pro Kit
I have to say for the first 2-3 days the ride was a bit harsh and bouncy and I was starting to wonder why the f$%k I did it but after a week it settled in and now the ride is perfect not harsh at all just firmer and waaaayyyyy better than stock. The car is much more composed over bumps and doesn't become unsettled mid corner like it did with the oem setup. Not as track focused as a coilover but not as stiff either.

B5 Perches
The guy at the suspension shop advised me that he had installed the perches but after consultation with his colleagues they were all of the opinion that the new Eibach spring was not trapped properly by the b5 perch and that it was unsafe to drive. They were saying that should the suspension become fully extended the spring may come out!

I know some guys on here are running this set-up and wondered if anyone had any issues? I'm wondering if the guys at the workshop are on crack or whether you guys are on crack for running this set-up?

The overall drop with the Eibachs is good now but the front gap is 1/4" larger than the rear : Front FTG 25 1/2" Rear FTG 25 1/4". Which is live-able but I really wanted it the other way round.

Cheers

I am running the exact same setup and have not had any issues other than i cant use my rhino ramps anymore
The springs settle more over time. Last time i checked i was at front FTG 25 or just under and rear FTG 25.25 iirc.

Team it with an upgraded RSB and you will be on rails.

I think that shop may be the ones on crack. For one I doubt the perches are that dramatic in size difference that they wouldn't 'capture' the spring. And even if so, I don't think your gonna be catching much air in your a4 that the shock and spring would completely decompress.

Also, you have any pics of your set up installed?

Whats the prob with the rhino ramps?

Will def get a rsb maybe an RS4 one.

Stance is good but will def need some spacers for the rear maybe 12mm H&R.

Just annoys me that I bought these fricken things (B5 perches) and now I may as well use them as coasters. The labor cost to get them installed is ridiculous.

Borrow a spring compressor and throw em on yourself

My car is strangly too low for my rhino ramps to pull up forward, my bumper does not clear anymore. Need to use some 2x4s to pre ramp up.

I understand what the shop is saying as when the strut is completely unloaded, the eibach spring is uncompressed but only a slight jiggle. I didnt need to use a spring compressor when installing them with the b5 cups. How realistic is it that you will catch air and have the spring jump out of the cup? Not going to happen. If you install yourself you will see. Bottom line is they are a shop and covering their ass since they would be responsible if anything did happen. Same reason some tire shops will refuse to mount tires that do not meet weight ratings, too much stretch etc.

The first time I disassembled my suspension it took me nearly a full day, the second time was like 1 hour a strut and was a breeze. Get some beer and a friend that is mechanically inclined and follow the multiple DIYs. I will post some pics shortly.

Cheers fellas,

I have a mate who runs a crash repair shop (not sure what you call them over there) I'll take a slab of beer round.

There are some country roads out here which you can get airborne on (if you hit them fast enough), but what if you accidentally drive over the edge or ramped part of a dropped kerb (driveway entrance) and one front wheel gets fully unloaded? Its not like the spring can fall out just become misaligned?
