Hey guys,
So I'm looking to get some new wheels or possibly powder coat my current ones. I already have the possible wheels selected but I can't seem to decide on a color. It's between gunmetal and hyper silver, however I am open to anything...
Here are some shots of how the car currently looks. Let me know your thoughts.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! [:D]

knowing which type of wheels you have in mind will really help. IMO, some wheels pull off different colours better than others

Currently have VMR V708 19's on there. Looking at V710 18's, S-Line 18's or S4 Avus. I don't know why... but I really like the Avus for some reason.

IMO, use the money you are planning to spend on wheels on a suspension instead.

Waiting until one of my struts go before I replace it. Not a huge suspension guy. I know... the gap is terrible, but I most likely will be going Koni FSD w/ Eibach if that tells you anything.
[Comfort > Appearance] At least for me...

V710 18's = Hyper silver
S-Line 18 = not sure I'd even bother with these given the other choices
S4 Avus = Gunmetal

Suspension with your current wheels would be a better option IMO.

19's are done and over with. I want something that ride better, which is why I'm stepping down to 18's or 17's.

Said it before and I'll say it again... its not getting done until my stock setup goes out. I agree with everyone it looks terrible... I know that. [:p]

Suspension is a good idea, the car does look a bit tall.
I was going to say keep the wheels and wrap the chrome window trim in matte or gloss black.

Trim will be done in the spring when I wrap my interior.
Well just to give you an idea of what got me on this whole trek, its about time for new tires. I had already planned on on getting new wheels when I got new tires. I just happened to stumble on a set of S4 Avus for $100.00 yesterday and jumped on them. Their in great condition but... their 17's.

So my thought was get those powder coated since they already have basically brand new tires on them and I'd have a new set of wheels and tires for $300~
Otherwise I am going to sell these and buy V710's or S-Line's.
Keep your wheels and color. They look nice.

Tell me which looks better (granted the bottoms look like 18s, but you see the potential)

I know... it looks better. I never said it didn't. [:p] It WILL happen... eventually. However, IMHO those look better since those are 18's. Just adding to my envy. [>_>]

Agreed. Those 18" Avus wheels on that car are perfect.

Lol one thing I love about most of the guys on this thread is that trying to ask them about wheels without dealing with the gap is sacrilege. You should have just lied to us from the get-go! Would have saved some time lol. As for my opinion on the wheel color, I'm partial to gunmetal but in the case of a brilliant black car, I would lean towards hyper silver. I love contrast and think that just like your black wheels now, gunmetal would get lost a bit. And Jesus, your car looks fucking RAISED man!!!!! It's rather horrifying [o_o]

My reasoning is this.
New\Painted wheels on stock height= still stock height so won't look as good.
Old wheels lowered= looks good no matter what

LOL! [>_<] When in doubt lie lie lie! But really I was leaning towards the hyper silver. And yes I know it looks raised lol. Thats the first thing I said when I went to look at it, but its the stock suspension! wth!
I tried to vote but couldn't find the option for lower suspension?
JK OP! Some avus would definitely look good, would be a nice contrast to all the black on the car

Voted other for suspension. It looks ridiculous.
Edit: If you are staying at that ride height, go with 17s.

Gunmetal for sure, then again I am very partial.
Also, the all-road stance doesn't work for th sedan.

Holy 4x4!!! Car looks weird with wheels and a lift kit lol.... In all seriousness my suspension is eibach pro Springs + bilstein sport struts and it feels like stock, but looks nice...
I'll just leave this here...

SO I have finally had some time and extra cash to get around to putting on new tires. I have one question that I can't seem to get a definitive answer on. Do Avus require spacers to bolt up to B7's? I've read a the few threads that are out there and have gotten mixed information. Some people claim they need 8mm, other claim 10mm and some people say the aren't required at all. Can anyone confirm? I want to figure this out before I drop $800~ on tires.

My understanding is that if your brake pads are worndown then yea u don't need spacers. But new pads you probably won't be able to get the wheel on.

Please for the love of all that is holy, reduce wheel gap before new wheels. It's like getting a new outfit but you still look ugly. [:D]

Even a S-line shock and Eibach or H&R spring combination will make it look so much better. If I were you, I'd sell the black RS4 wheels, get a set of 18" Avus wheels and new summer tires and make the 17" wheels your winters and experiment colors on the winter set with plasti-dip.
