View Full Version : Differences in the 2 ECS LED tail lights?

Was going to get these: RED / CLEAR

Saw that there not available till March and $30 more than these: SMOKED RED / CLEAR

Assuming the pics are accurate I don't seem to see much difference in the two or am I missing something? The blinker seems to be darker which looks nice.
Does anyone have the smoked red ones themselves?

The clear portion on the reverse light is either smoke or clear. That is the difference between kits.

I really wish someone offered a LED taillight that matched what the Audi line up currently has.

Agreed. I'd love to have the stock looking taillights with LEDs.

Does anyone know if you loose rear fog capability with these tails? I have a set of the red/clear which I may or may not sell if it means I won't have rear fogs.

JOM comes from over seas. Usually containers from over seas take about 2 months to land in the US.

I have the red/smoked tails and have full functionality of my rear fogs. I didnt buy them from ECS but they are the same exact lights.

Does anyone have a good install video to go off of? I've found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgIge3jR4BA but from the pics on ecs, it looks like there is more wiring than just 1 clip.
If I'm not mistaken these are just plug and go?

Aren't all the smoked, clear JOM led tail lights and ALL Audi factory and aftermarket products imported? Just wondering why you never seem to have the clear in stock when the others are. I would think that prevents people from buying them when they see a several months delay. Just curious. My reasoning is clear looks more stock hence possibly more desirable to buyers.

JOM is imported yes, most Audi parts can be sourced within the US. If not then it needs to come from Germany which is rare unless its a European part. To be honest we don't really stock too many of them because they don't sell as quickly as you would think. The last time we sold a pair of the clear/red tails was 1.14.13 so its almost been a year since we have sold a set.
We try to keep our warehouse stocked with items that are continuously being bought/in demand as warehouse space is limited.
I'm always looking for tips for what to bring in and if this is something you guys think we should stock I'll be more than happy to push for a larger PO.
