I had the classic symptoms on an N80 valve going out: gas cap warning, CEL, and difficulty starting the car after filling up the tank. After replacing the N80 I cleared the CEL on my car. I've since driven over 400 miles and filled the tank twice and both times I still had the same starting issues. The CEL has not returned and the car has been driving smoother and boosting around 2lbs higher. Will the refueling issue fix itself over time or is there something else I can try?

You probably filled the charcoal canister. Do you force more fuel in after the pimp clicks?

When the pump clicks I never put any more fuel in. I must have spoke too soon since my check engine light came on again today with another P0455. Is it possible that I received a bad N80? It looks like everything is hooked up correctly.

Could be that you did but highly doubtful. Have you replaced your fuel filter?

other than the charcoal canister, have you tried replacing the cap?

I was about to order another fuel filter but then the check engine light came on so I wasn't sure if I should proceed with the change. My current filter has about 30k miles on it and I'll probably order a new one before the weekend is over.

I have not tried replacing the cap yet. With all of the N80 problems I'd read about I thought that changing out to a new one would surely fix the issue. I may have to order a new cap with the fuel filter. I'm still not clear on what the charcoal canister is or how it works.
