Can i switch the faceplate between different units? They are functionally the same. The trim will not fit into the dash. :(

The Symphony doesn't have a removable faceplate. If you get a new head unit, you will need a faceplate for it. Double DIN looks the best. You can get one from Crutchfield for cheap, but my big issue with it is it's not really removable once you lock it in. For a bit more, you can get a better one from Enfig (Christian's shop, who sponsors this forum). Be aware there are issues if you get a new HU. The rear door speakers and sub will be really weak. So you'll probably want to put a new amp in. Something with adjustable gain. 4 Channel. Two to run the rear door speakers and the other 2 to run bridged to the sub

I guess to clarify, i bought an S2 from an a4 and the frond face profile is taller with the corners square. The old one was trapezoid shaped so it doesn't fit in the dash.

My two options are to attempt a face switch, or sand down the A4 unit to let it clear and lock in. I can post pics if needed, thank you all as always for tye feedback.

Thanks Johnny.

This takes care of the low rear audio.

So my question stands, has anyone used another symphony face plate to make the radio fit in it's hole?
