I am having issues with my V10 S8 having misfire issues in random cylinders. This has happened on 3 separate occasions. 2 of which involved multiple cylinders and 1 that involved a single cylinder.
Each time the car ran perfectly fine right after clearing the codes, I have ran 2 sea foam treatments and even changed my plugs.
Today I took it into Audi to have it inspected for possible carbon cleaning and was informed that it was not required. Any ideas on where to point now?

Please let us know what they find. I am thinking of picking up a V10 S8 and while there is allot of info on the FSI carbon buildup on the RS4 motors there is not much on the 5.2L.

I was told there were no carbon issues, going to take it into the dealership the next time that I have a misfire and have them diagnose it.

Did all these occur at a cold start (after sitting for lengthy time)?

Not all no, some did however I have had a couple in the middle of road trips while driving in excess of 2 hours prior to it happening.

Who told you there was no carbon issue and how did they come to that conclusion? I had the same thing happen with my S6 v10 and it was a carbon issue that they needed to clean.

after viewing your thread it looks like the carbon is hard to distinguish. if this problem persists I might insist on it.
