Hey guys, i bought a 1997 audi a6 quattro with 150k miles on it from a guy for $1k, needs work, & the dif's leak like a civ.I mean, the front dif was bone dry! The rear had plenty but it still leaks, so i drained and refilled it anyway. So now both have new fluid, I plan to run this for a short period then flush the front, if not both again. The rear takes a lot of gear oil btw, I put maybe a gallon in there. Anyway, I am not up for tearing this beast down to re do the seals, certainly not at this point in the game having no real indication that this car will last me any period of time. But, i thought, if our a6's have rubber seals in the diff's I would probably give this stuff a try. So, i guess Im asking for opinions, and also, confirmation that we got rubber [;)]

Thanks in advance for the help.

looks like the seals are rubber with a retainer spring. this is on a c5 but if you felt like changing them it seems pretty straightforward
