I enabled both needle sweep and lap timer, but I don't see lap timer[confused]
Lap timer/Boost gauge does not work on some maybe all 2012 models.

One annoying feature is bugging me now. When you turn off the engine, interior lightning shuts off and turns back on again when you switch power off or when you open the driver’s door. Is it possible to code it to stay on this interval as well?

Hey, guys. Working on a method to permanently disable cyl deactivation on the 4.0TT engine. Know where and what to do, just need a security access key for the 01 engine module on a MY17 S6. Anyone? Feel free to PM me if you'd rather not post. Any help with providing one or pointing me to a source would be greatly appreciated.

Was able to do an adaptation on a MY17 S6 using security code 20103. Not sure why that key didn't work for me prior, maybe the engine ECM was in temporary protection mode or something. Thanks much.

regarding the needle sweep, is that possible to enable the background led lights inside the speedo counter for 14 rs7. Or is it an European models only mod?
looks like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Utiil_yDmtc
I've been searching this for a week now. I enabled the needle sweep and only the red lights on the tach light up along the perimeter. Looking through youtube there seem to be versions that do both, just the speedo, or just the tach. Any reason for this?

The red lights around the speedo are only on models with the Adaptive Cruise Control - they are used to show the set speed when the ACC is enabled.

After reading through 26 pages of this thread, seems that way unfortunately. Looks rather silly with just half of the lights coming on during the sweep on cars without ACC.

Not sure if 'video on motion' unlock was already figuered out lately for C7, but apperently my ODBeleven added it as an automatic application.
Haven't tried it yet and can't unlock it yet (100 credits) also don't feel the need for it (yet)..but just wanted to share :).

10 credits price is 1.49€ +VAT.
100 credits price is 11.99€ +VAT.
500 credits price is 47.99€ +VAT.
But there is a christmass action atm, pro version (allows coding) + 200 credits for 50€.
Only the automatic one button click codes (like seen above) use the credit system. But like said, any coding can be done with the pro version.
Personally i find it very handy to perform a quick scan on the car :).

I would call it a gauge not just a shift light (see picture below). However, cruising at 40 mph and 2k rpm may not require much boost. Have you tried stepping on the gas a little harder. That's when I noticed my boost gauge come up.

Fairly certain the white bar is for turbo'd cars and the green bar is for supercharged. Hence why I said for the A7/6 its more of a shift light than a boost gauge. Unless I missed something in coding...pretty sure I didn't though.

Mine is A6 2012 3.0 TFSI and does not show boost. Instrument cluster is 519 version.
FYI
Most 2012's do not work for boost and or lap timer functions.
Only turbos show boost, supercharged do not display it. SC only shows oil temp plus shift point.

I remember a while back someone posted this:
There is an additional setting that will prevent your car from auto-lowering at ~30 mph, as well as allow you to raise the suspension while driving at any speed. Standard settings gray out the "raise" button over a certain speed, and are particularly annoying if your car is lowered via VAG-Com and you would like to keep it raised for an extended period of time (such as city driving with a lot of dips, bumps, ramps, sloped driveways, etc.)
1) Launch the green menu by holding Car + Menu buttons. (If you don't know how to enable or use the green menu, see the main VCDS thread)
2) Go to "car" then "carmenuoperation" menu
3) Scroll down to "suspension"
4) Change the value to "5"
5) Press the center menu knob to save
6) Reboot the MMI (Menu button +Center knob+Top Right soft button)
7) Turn the ignition on/off
This didn't work for me and was wondering if anyone tried a deferent setting 0-10? Both my S7 and RS7 were already set at 5.

Having recently purchased the $449 hex net 10 vin less than a month ago I wish the $199 3 vin was available then.
So far the wifi/VCDS mobile has proven difficult to use so I'm plugging it in directly to the USB on my laptop anyway.
With the availability of the $199 3 vin v2 I would definitely skip used and go that route.

Marc:
I drive a 2014 RS7 (Pre-Facelift) On the 2014 (after enabling the functionality as you have with VCDS) use the roller control knob on the left hand side of the steering wheel to scroll through the options available for the DIS. "Lap timer" should have been added as the next to last item. Select Lap timer using the roller knob (press in) and a series of lines concerned with the Lap timer function will be added to the DIS.
Boostguage should appear in the DIS between the right side of the tach and the center DIS display region when your REVs go above 3500 or so. (There are other threads that have some pictures of what this looks like over in Audi World.) If you do not have a turbocharger, the boostguage will not appear; nor will it appear unless you are driving at relatively high revs, as when up shifting through the gears when in manual mode.
I hope this helps!

Have tried everything to get those single LED side markers coded out, nothing seems to work. Been told it's not possible due to hardware config on the control board, changed for later model C7.5's... agree, it would clean up the rear and look fantastic without them.

One of the 7 guys can probably answer better on the headlights. For the 6 it isn't just Euro headlights needed for the front sweep, it is Matrix headlights which are even more expensive than just Euro lights. I've seen the 4 sweep, it is red vs. amber of the Euro and the US 4 flashes a brake bulb as well for US regulations. The Euro 6/7 sweep is the single amber bar.
Easy install, a harness is run between the trunk mounted light and the quarter panel mounted light.

Here's one from another forum. I can confirm it works on turns, on facelift my front fog for which every side I have the blinker going on will turn on too. Unsure if that is from setting my headlights to RoW or if it is from this same coding.
Kerb lighting

Here's one from another forum. I can confirm it works on turns, on facelift my front fog for which every side I have the blinker going on will turn on too. Unsure if that is from setting my headlights to RoW or if it is from this same coding.

Doh' it might be. I don't think I noticed some of the behaviors stock.
Curb fog light when making a low speed turn.
Fog light when using blinker.
Fog lights when reversing.
Those are the 3 things I started noticing, perhaps all 3 were stock behavior ! [emoji38]

Greetings..I have been stuck in a loop for some time now with this issue - and not necessarily a problem per se. I was able to adjust led brightness but after doing so I noticed that my headlights (xenons) are on constantly now, day or night. Further, the control knob has no affect whatsoever - meaning O, Auto, Parking, Low beams, etc. does nothing. I have read and read and read the Control LED's vagcom tweak but the only thing that does for me is turn off the led's. Mine is MY14 C7 A6 Premium Plus Sport. Can someone please shed light? Much appreciated!

Have a look at your programming to see if you have inadvertently chosen the Scandinavian headlight setting. In those countries headlights have to be on all the time.

As he is saying select usb, then test, then save. This is with the cable connected.
With the cable disconnected, and using WiFi, you need to do a search on your wifi for the # of your Interface device. Then connect, then type 192.168.0.1 in the address. password is password by default iirc.

You have to put yourself through the windshield for the flashing brake lights to activate, not during normal braking.
Can't remember what I selected, but was playing around seeing if I could get parking lights via turn signals with full led lights, they lit up Amber but we're not happy. Rapid random flickering and light out alarms. Oh well, would've been neat if it worked.

Finally got around to hooking up vcds and making most of the recommended changes this weekend. Echoing the thanks to those who pioneered the path to allow folks like myself to make these changes. I did have two quick follow up questions if anyone can help:
1) For the start/stop on a c7.5 s7 -- my original number was 52 and I subtracted 4 to make it 48. However, this morning my car did the auto stop. Assuming I misinterpreted the instructions--if so, can someone please explain so a dummy can understand? [:)] And maybe the more important question is, what did I break with my random coding change (luckily the car hasnt blown up yet)?? Thinking absent a better solution I may just add 64 so I don't have to start at the obnoxious yellow light anymore...
2) Speaking of obnoxious yellow lights--I could have swore I read someone on here that you can turn the "passenger airbag off" light off, but did a search and re-flipped through the 29 pages and didnt see anything (apologies if it was staring me in the face and I missed it). In any case, if this is doable on a 2016 MY car I would appreciate any help here.
Thank you
Disable/memorize/invert Start & Stop:
- module 09-Cent. Elec.
- enter Security Code (20113)
- Adaptation on Channel 34:
subtract 4 to the value --> Start&Stop always disabled
add 32 to the value --> memorize last status (the Start & Stop status at engine startup will be the one at last engine shutdown)
- test & save
In addition of these values, if you add 64 to the value, the Start & Stop button light will be reversed: off if Start & Stop is disabled, and on if Start & Stop is enabled

I also with I could get the Electronic Parking Brake to auto-engage in Park. I tried a couple of different settings and they did not work. I have an S7 with the S-tronic dual clutch transmission and not the automatic in the US version A7, so maybe that's why. If you figure this one out, please let us know.
Did you ever figure this out? I always use the parking brake (that's what it's for!), and it would be nice for it to auto-engage since it can auto-disengage.

- For the automatic parking break when on P, I followed the instructions I found here but then I had this window:
"This appears to be an uninitialiszed control module, valide WSC/Importer/Equipment data may be required.
Click yes for VCDS to use default values of 12345/123/12345
Click No for VCDS to trzy the values currently in the module.
Click cancel to go back and manually edit the values."
I didn't change anything as I was afraid to do something really bad.
- I tried to deactivate the safety thing that shut your engine off when opening the door. Couldn't find the 0F to change to 00... I didn't take a picture of the long code, would that help?

Not possible with VCDS (afaik), but according to some 'european' tuners it is possible.
Maybe mistaken, but weren't you planning to tune the car with JD engineering?
If not mistaken, they also are one of them that can dissable it.

Not fully, if you keep low rpm's it will still trigger 4cyl mode. Turning off ESP however apperently fully dissables it (but.....).

I just took delivery of a 2017 S6 with the premium plus Xenon headlights. I have the cable and used it successfully on my previous car (14 A6). I'd like to increase the brightness of the DRLs with these Xenon headlights and was wondering if anyone has had success doing this on the C7.5 with Xenons? Anyone have problems? Thanks in advance.

Number of launch control?

Being a new owner of CDN S6 I thought I'd try this (see link below) as the drop down menu had all the selections from OP instructions. When I reset MMI and go to Setup MMI there is no wifi connection option. Am I out of luck or is there another way? I have no audi connect prompt on main screen. Anybody who's been successful with this on a C7.5 let me know.
Thanks

Yes, Ross-tech is a great source for this. Unless you plan on using it for more than 3 different vehicles, I'd recommend their least expensive offering for $199:

It has full functionality, but is limted to 3 VIN numbers.

You would need actual TPMS sensors to do that. These cars use change in diameter to trigger the tire light

I beg to differ....2017's 6's/7's have tire TPMS. You can access the reading via MMI...under car settings, and then I think maintanence, then tire pressure.

Beg to differ all you want, the s6 does not have individual tpms sensors in every wheel, it measures a change in diameter(if you lose air, diameter decreases). If you dismount tires you will NOT find tpms sensors. Rs7 and s8 will have them though.

My bad...I'm really surprised the 2017's S6's don't have TPMS sensors and pressure readout on the MMI. Since my '16 RS7 has the sensors, I thought the 2017's should have them as standard. Seems like Audi went cheap on that.

Agreed, particularly as OBDEleven has been able to do it (via an app) for a while now. So far the only thing I have not been able to do via OBDEleven is get control unit 55 -headlight range- to work, which is preventing me from resetting the auto leveling function on my headlights. As many others have experienced, the auto leveling feature of the headlights stopped working after I lowered the car via coding.

It turns out the auto leveling feature is in fact working. I just tested it on a dark road...put the car in comfort and got on it. The front end lifted up and I clearly saw the headlights adjust down. Repeated this several times, so no issue.

Has anybody with the c7.5 had trouble with the windows via key fob?
I wasn't able to get it to close, only to open after I long coded via the directions on the OP.
Apparently this doesn't work anymore because Audi thinks kids will stick their heads in the window while you're closing it remotely without looking, and they'll get stuck... At least that's what Audi Canada told me.

Hi everyone.
I finally found an A6 TDI with almost all of the options I wanted (minus no b&o), but the bose really blows. That being said, over on a few euro forums it's mentioned that you can change the sound eq profile via long coding in 47-sound system (there are three bytes only and I have the first 2 bits in the first byte checked by default, but no description of them in obdeleven...the security access code is 20113), while on another forum someone claimed it was via adaptation (again, no description of the channels in obdeleven) that individual channels could be made louder / quieter.
Would any of you have them displayed on vagcom that could share? Or would anyone know a tech at the dealer that could check with the dealer tool and share with us?
And also, is there a way to lessen the amount of steering assist via obdeleven? I have ADS set for dynamic but it's still too light and numb.
After I get that figured out, I'd like to fit some adaptive seats or euro S-Line seats (since the stock ones here have no lateral support). Have any of you done this mod and successfully coded them?

Guys, got a serious issue which if I can't get help from y'all, gonna have to bite the bullet and have my warranty voided. So here's the deal:
Last week I was playing with highway lights and alarm system. Between the 2, the car threw up errors - 1 of them being the "headlight range" code and light on the dash. I found the fix for that, basically reset basic settings for lights, which fixed the error, but the next morning, the car was dead - no start.
Jumped it, then launched the OVDEleven and was greeted with no less than 15 faults! Something had upset the battery - all those modules lost connection to battery. Weird. Monday morning the A6 went in to Audi.
2 days later they wrench a brand new 18 Q7 from me and gave me the bad news. They think they've got a handle on the battery issue. But told me "someone" has been messing with the coding on the vehicle. There's codes on the car stemming from A5-Q5-to-A7 etc...but because I'm really good friends with the manager of service for all of NorCal, she pulled the pprwk from the SA and took me into her office to say the following - "please have whoever coding your car to put it back to factory specs. Because if we do it, taking less than an hr, it would not only cost you $210 but doing so would require us to void your warranty." Shiit! I have less than 32k on the odo.
So what it's doing now is 1. still throwing up faults in Alarm module, 2. fault in surround camera module (see pic attached where overview of car is blacked out), 3. MMI display lost the bottom row of data (where cell signal, time and whatever else used to be). Still have faults in 6 modules but don't want to waste more space. Suffice it to say that if anyone can help me to decipher what's going on and set it right, the other codes would be resolved as well. I know this, it's something to do with when the battery went dead. My battery was fine, never off for more than a typical night, no extended storage etc.
Thanks all!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170825/6bdcd771099b0c6d9b15901367fa318c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170825/c5295435b9bcde0e1d64dddf5c27c613.jpg

Actually I did, and when the car threw up the error, I immediately reversed the change. That took the error away. But then the car died the next morning and that's when all hell broke loose. Nope. Only had 1 fault before in the module - No Basic Setting. Now I have 5 faults with all cameras popping up faults. The problem I think is that when I added a 17 Q5 to the garage, I started fiddling with it, lights etc. the Q5 is fine. Then when I went back to work on my car, the codes somehow got mixed up. My Adaptations show my car in that module as a VW Touareg. Fml

Weird things afoot. I did the coding a couple days ago, and there was no other option in the most logical location (I can't remember the exact tree, but I was looking under Car Systems/Driver Assist/Lane Assist or something like that). The only option there was the check box to enable or disable the function totally. I just came back in from activating the option for the default adaptive cruise distance (it's under "IDE01949-Distance basic setting option" if anyone is looking). When I rebooted the MMI after that, I saw the new menu option for adaptive cruise AND a new option for the activation of assisted steering (choices between "EARLY" and "LATE") in the same place as I was looking before.
Now, if only I could figure out how to adjust the default setting for the speed threshold for the automatic high beams. I'm not able to read any channels on that module.

From my limited understanding, this option requires an additional camera in your rear view mirror. It should look like this, and it will contain a required control module. Without that, you cannot code anything.

From my limited understanding, this option requires an additional camera in your rear view mirror. It should look like this, and it will contain a required control module. Without that, you cannot code anything.

Funny you guys mention this. I started looking into this retrofit last week:

Anyone know if there's a way to use the cruise control w/o the "adaptive" part?
If you turn off traction control, it automatically shuts off adaptive cruise control.

Huh... never seen that before, but with the power output of my car, that scares me a bit. Ever heard of a less invasive method?

No I haven't. The only reason I know that is when you turn off traction control, it will tell you ACC is not available.

Anybody figure how to change the number of automatic turn signal blinks from 3 to 4-5?

Here's my addition.
Slight change to the Adaptive Cruise Control Preset Distance - for Pre-Facelift RS7:
Change the Adaptive Cruise Control Preset distance
[Select]
[13 Distance Regulation]
[Adaptation - 10] --> Distance basic setting option (might be prefixed with some sort of an alphanumeric ID)
Change from Off to On
Reboot MMI
Will now have an option in your MMI under Car --> Driver assistance --> Adaptive Cruise Control to set which of the 4 preset distances your car will default to when you activate your ACC.

Is there anyway to disable by default the auto dimming features? Or at least "remember last setting"?
Every time I get into my car, I have to turn it off manually via the button on my rear view mirror.

I just updated my Ross Tech software to the latest version 17.8.0
Now the 5F module has a security code S12345 to unlock "Developer's Menu"
I was successful in unlocking it after entering this security code.
Question is...what is Developer's Menu? And How do I access it once its unlocked?
I tried to unlock VIM with this new security code...unfortunately STILL does not work.

Have you tried holding the car and menu buttons (for 5 seconds) to see if the hidden menu appears. The MMI may need a reset first. See the first post for this.

Yes...I thought the Developer Menu = Green Hidden Menu which currently is inaccessible on the facelifted A7/S7/RS7.
After I activated the Developer Menu in 5F module, I did reset the MMI first and then try to access the Hidden Menu by pressing and holding both Menu and Car buttons simultaneously for 5-10 sec. Unfortunately it didn't do anything. I tried this several times and no luck.

It is easy to do with OBDeleven, I did it on mine.

So after enabling the hidden menu through vag-com, and resorting the mmi, I still can’t get anything to come up after holding down the menu and car buttons for 5 seconds. What am I doing wrong? (2014 A6)

Hello Gents,
I’ve been asking around and seem to get a different response every time. Hopefully you guys can help. I just picked up a 2018 S7 and here’s what I’m looking to do: disable rear side markers, disable amber corner lights, add lap timer, disable nav phone warning message while entering data at speed, increase radio play after car is turned off, and lower 15mm. In your opinion, would VAG COM or OBDEleven be better suited for these mods? Let’s take cost out of the equation at this point. I just want the best solution that’s easy and won’t cause error codes. I’d really appreciate the feedback from those who have done any/all of these coding changes on their C7.5’s.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond. Coding is new to me, so there’s a bit of hesitation on my end...

Lap timer might already be turned on in the S6 (it is in the RS7). It's a separate entry in the red menu in the cluster. Hit the "Menu" button on the steering wheel when you're on the red menu in the cluster and see if lap timer is there. If not, the instructions in this thread should help: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/777355-NEW-VagCom-VCDS-Mod-List-for-C7-C7-5.
I haven't been able to get the "disable nav phone warning message while entering data at speed" to work. You'll be able to get into the 5F module, but you won't be able to see channel 2 or 3. That's from the C7 (pre-facelift), not C7.5 (post-facelift) menus. I don't know what settings need to be changed in the C7.5.
I think "increase radio play after car is turned off" is a green menu setting and--you guessed it--no green menu on the C7.5s. So you're out of luck on that one, unless somebody can point you to the right module and channel for coding.
Check the same thread for instructions on how to lower.
I'm a VCDS user myself. OBDEleven requires an Android device, which I do not have. Follow the instructions, and it would be VERY hard to break something. I generally take a screen shot of whatever the programming looks like before I make any changes and paste it into a Word document, which I also use to keep notes of what I've done.
Have fun!

For folks with the heated steering wheel, has anyone figured out how to within OBDEleven - change the Steering Wheel Heater/Multifunction Button to work as a Multifunction Button instead of operating the Heated Wheel? This could be switched back and forth during winter summer times...

Gotcha
One more thing I lowered the car 12 mm as it would not let me go any further I have 20" black optic wheels. I checked my distances again today I have LF 412.8 LR408.2 RF 410 and RR 390.8
Does this seem off to anyone else that one corner is 18 mm off approx that's how it was when I originally changed it as well , but it was off by 10 mm not 18 . Should I change it to make it closer to the other wheels or leave it the way it is, I do not have fault codes. By eye you cannot tell any difference. Do you think it was maybe the surface the car was on was not completely level when I changed the values
Thank you

Chances are that your car has been lowered before, especially if you're not the original owner. I noticed that the highest number i could put in the drop setting is around 413
I know this is an old post. But from what I've noticed with the car, when lowering you want to
A) be on ground that is as flat as possible
B) be out of your car
C) when you get to (THE SECOND) step 7 on this link (https://www.audiworld.com/forums/s6-c7-platform-discussion-199/how-lowering-aas-via-vcds-2869689/), you'll want to take a large caliper measuring tool (https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=DChcSEwiksurU8JvbAhUNn58KHcL5D7wYABAMGgJxYg&sig=AOD64_11R5fWsOdt6Fn44sbboT6i1DB8GQ&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwjs5uXU8JvbAhUQ0lMKHYeUCgIQwzwIJw&adurl=), or if you dont have $250 you want to spend on the tool, at least some high accuracy measuring tape.
D) You'll want to measure the distance from the center of your wheel to the top of the wheel well, for all 4 wheels and record those numbers, use a level for better accuracy.
E) This number is actually the stock setting for your car, that is the number that you add 17mm to.

Can't 'reset' back to factory. A dealer would have to recode the module; that's what I had to do when I screwed up the lowering by not putting suspension in 'auto'. Different reason, but same solution. I'd just leave as is. But if you want to put them back like before, ask somebody with the same year car, and try that. Nothing to lose. Good luck.
Billy3407, to disable warning messages while at speed on our new cars just go to the module 5F, adaptation, and from the drop-down menu (extensive) look for channel 'IDE 03471- ENG 152571- V. Conf- unblock functions while piloted driving'. Select it, then just changed it from 'blocked' to 'enabled'. Done. Hope this helps.
