Alright, so the wheel bearing sound was in fact the CVT. Now for the next part of the issue... I don't want to just throw another turd CVT in the car and have these issues. Is there now a beefier version of it? I don't want to put another one in and have the same issues. Also, is 1.8 and 2.0 CVT the same? Thanks Y'all

Sell it. Serious answer.
I don't know the specifics of a manual FWD trans swap and how it bolts up, but I do know that installing the pedal assembly in the footwell is a nightmare. Let's say you get a brand new CVT trans...how long would you plan on keeping the car?

Get another trans, same code, have any mechanic shop install it.....park it and sell it.
OR light it on fire and claim insurance $$. Basically that's how ya do it.

That sucks. Aside from a AWD Manual swap I was afraid that was the answer. I can't believe throughout all this cvt bullshit a stronger replacement isn't available. I like the car alot I wanted to keep it 4 or 5 years

I'll second the swap for a used tranny and sell it. If you have the time, tools, and ambition, it could also be profitable to just part it out and sell what's left for scrap.

I am in the process of doing an AWD manual swap in mine. I was thinking of just doing a FWD but came across a donor AWD to use. The FWD swap is pretty simple if you know what you are doing, if you want to do it I say go for it. It would be a lot less of a headache to just swap a CVT in and sell it though.

Did you not change your fluid? Did you abuse it? My CVT is humming along just fine at 80,000 miles; I've changed the fluid twice.

I just got the car, all maintenance has been done per "the book" because it has a weak ass bumper to bumper through the crooks at Endurance that says it has to be by the book. Is their a mileage they recommend fluid change?

The maintenance schedule recommends changing the CVT fluid at 35,000 and 75,000 miles.
