The front of my car gives a clunk when I make a hard right and I'm not sure what the issue is. My motor mounts have been replaced so I'm thinking it has something to do with the suspension. I'm going to try and get under to take a look but any ideas on what I should check for? I have 65k miles.

I have this problem too. Dealership told me cracked control arms and asked me to fork over $2500
Took it to an indie shop, they told me it was benign.

Mine used to clunk when turning it ended up being the exhaust/downpipe was hitting the trans cross member.
My clunks were:
driver side tie rod end
bad uca's

Also check and make sure the CV boots aren't torn

Had an occasional clunk turning right, upper control arm bushings were torn. Had them replaced and no more noises.

I hope that is my issue too. It is every once in a great while turning left. I have some new adjustable uppers I just need to install. If that doesnt fix it, I am going to install some tire rods.

My experience
- creaking at low speeds pulling into a parking spot - tie rods
- clunking at hard turns , a bad bushing or starting to crack
- clunking at quick take off from stop, or braking, or letting go of brake on a turn - my akebono pads shifting
