I was wondering if anyone had an idea as to what is causing my car to hesitate when I come to a stop. It almost feels like it's going to stall when I come to a stop. 08 Quattro tiptronic. Mods include awe quad tip, carbonio intake, cts custom fmic, boost gauge, and stage one apr tune. I searched around but only found the hesitation threads during acceleration. Thanks in advance.
Down shifting maybe. Mine does it to but only switching from 2nd to 1st

Check your PCV. A bad one will have this symptom.

It does not like going slow... solution only go fast!!
Jk, mine sometimes almost feels as if it jumps when downshifting. Try putting it into manual mode and shift down early so that the RPMS dont drop too low. That seems to be a common issue with the tiptronic.

I noticed it in mine before I did a carbon cleaning. Coming to a stop the RPMs would fall way down. After the carbon cleaning it doesn't happen any more. How many miles on your car?

111k. I'm ordering the rai catch can and the plan on a carbon cleaning. Place around me wants 650$ though haha. My dads a retired mechanic and thinks I can do it cheaper

Having the same experience as OP. RPM seems to drop a bit too much just as the car comes to a stop then recovers right away. I am APR stage1. The problem appeared around the time I got the tune but I can't specifically say it is related. I have changed the n80,and installed new coil packs since one was misfiring and made sure I did not have an air leak at the pump on back by firewall. Nothing changed as far as the rpm drop.
My guess would be carbon cleaning needed. Also thinking about ATF change just for maintenance purposes, not sure if grungy fluid might cause the trans or TC to shift a little clunky when coming to a stop.
08 Avant. 65k miles.
