Hello Guys,

I changed my oil and filter less then 1000 miles ago and tonight I just noticed that there is a small oil leak by the drain plug (98% sure), during said oil service I upgraded to an ECS Magnetic Drain Plug plus a brand new washer.
Anybody have ideas what it could be? Did I over tighten the plug? Any comments are welcome.

Thanks

Clean up the area well and see if the leak returns. If it does, back the plug out just a bit to and see if the plug turns freely. Don't back it out all the way or your oil will drain. If the thread is ok then you didn't over tighten. If thats the case consider replacing the washer. If it continues then the leak isn't from the drain plug.

Usually drain plugs aren't the problem. Either you over tightened or you didn't. Most common leaks would be the flex pipe that's near or rear Pcv inlet. But it could be from anywhere. Like the post above said, clean it up and monitor the leak periodically. If you have ramps just park on them every time your done with your commute. Easier.
