Hey guys, so I went to the stealership and they offered to buy my car(87000 mile) so they did a full inspection and offered me $9000 because of the some repairs that they felt need to be done. I said no but requested to get the list of parts with cost and labour for installation .
Needless to say, the parts are cheaper on europarts.com, 034motorshops and ecstuning.com ( at least the ones that I can find)

THESE ARE THE PARTS I FOUND/BOUGHT
Coolant Hose Flange
Motor Mount (A4 B7, Right)
Purge Valve (N80)
Fuel Filter

PARTS STILL NEEDED
HEATER HOSE( i searched and I am a little confused as to which one to get but dealer wanted $250 for it with coolant hose flange)
CAM CHAIN COVER( is it the same as valve cover?)
OFC( the guy just scribbled it at the top of the list and I am not sure what that is.

PS: if you live in the DC/MD/VA area, can you suggest a good shop?
much closer to Baltimore

thanks for your help

Give Hugh a call over at europaparts. He'll take care of you. best way to figure out info on the parts needed is to call back the stealership and get the exact part numbers, that way you can search europaparts and all the other sites with the part number and get an exact price and be absolutely sure that you are getting the right part.

oh and i would also suggest getting a second opinon on the work that they "claim" needs to be done. There have been a lot of situations where teh dealerships just say shit needs to be done when it really doesnt. I would first get a second opinion from another reputable shop and then start shopping for parts. Check the regional section and see if you can find some info on shops in your area

They basically want to replace perfectly fine parts with new ones, on your dollar. Nothing wrong with those parts except that they are the most prone to failure

I linked all the parts above... however...

If the coolant flange isn't leaking there is no need to replace... it is a PITA job btw...
If the motor mount isn't leaking there is no reason to replace...
If you aren't getting a code for the purge valve there is no reason to replace
the fuel filter can be replaced if it wasn't... preventative maintenance.

Thanks for the support Shawn!

Didn't think of that.
I will find a shop and get a second opinion.
I have always serviced the car there, so i just thought they will be straight with me
but good idea

You probably had a stored code for the N80 hence why they're replacing that.

In my experience, the dealer absolutely would NOT have replace those and sold the car to a new customer and not disclosed them either. They're just giving you some random crap that "needs to be fixed" so they can offer you less on trade in. I would imagine dealers do that shit all the time...
