Anyone have this radio in there car? Thinking about getting it for my B6 A4. Now, I have the factory Bose system so I know the wiring is a bitch, so is it useless paying the up charge to buy this from Crutchfield with all of their installation gear? I've used them in the past for all of my cars and my friends cars since their kits always have everything you need to get the radio installed quick. From what I've read, this isn't the case with these Audi's with the Bose system, since the Amp demands a floating ground.

Could someone elaborate on this for me?

I just installed the AVH-X4500BT in my B6 and it's great! Can't see this one being much different. The deck I have already had all the pre-outs for the RCA cables so the installation wasn't that complicated, I had to order the Metra 70-1787 which i didn't use much of the wires because of the rca's and I had to wire my ACC wire '"red wire" to my fuse box so that the radio comes on once i turn the car on.

You have any pictures of it installed? Just curious as to how it looks in the dash.

Well, got error 3 on my stock unit. Bought a cheapo single din unit from crutchfield with the whole installation kit for $109 shipped. The GF told me to wait till Christmas and she will get me the 4500, so of course I listened, but I needed something to get me by until then. This is the unit I got. Its going to look awful in the dash, but I can deal with that for a few months. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158BT3000P/Sony-MEX-BT3000P.html

just wanted to give everyone an update.

I used the crutchfield harness and everything worked PERFECT. I was lazy tonight, so I just wired the ACC power to the constant power, but I will correct that this weekend. Just needed to get the radio in tonight and it was already getting dark.

Do I have steering wheel controls, no. Do I care, no. For 109$ installed, I could not be happier. Not to mention the radio itself is pretty decent. Speakers sound great too. It will be much nicer once I actually get the touch screen in, but the gf told me to wait till christmas so I couldnt argue. This will do for now.
