Tuesday:
AC went out this morning. Blows warm air. It's 99 degrees outside and 99% humidity right now. Sucks balls.
B8.5 S4 2013. 9800 miles.
BS that this stopped working with < 10k miles. What is this an 80's Chrysler? Trip to dealer soon.
I will follow with results to help out anyone that may have a similar issue

Resolved Thursday
**follow up**

AC Pressure Switch failure: part # 4H0959126A.
Service Rep stated they are starting to see this issue a bit on the 12's and 13's.
While it was in there they performed a "48K8" Power steering software update on the car. I was unaware of a ps issue.
Dealer fixed under warranty. I always get good service at the San Antonio Audi. (Worked me in even though they didn't have an opening. Professional behavior. Gave me a ride etc).

As silly as this may sound, my a/c went out (blew warm air) all of a sudden last summer and it turned out to be the result of rabbits feasting on my engine bay wiring -- a $400 non-warranty fix. If you have a vagcom cable, you'll know it's "rabbits" if you find open circuit errors.

That is random! I do have a vagcom cable - I may plug it in and see what pops up.

Just don't leave it plugged in or them pesky wabbits will get it! BWAHAHAHAH!!! [:D]

That said, there was a thread on here last week where this was a common occurrence on the B8.5's. I think one of their problems was a sensor that went out and the car couldn't see if the compressor was on or not.

The AC went out on my car two weeks ago. '13 S4 with just under 8900 miles. Turned out to be a bad pressure switch. Got it replaced and all is good. Was damn hot driving around South Florida without AC for a day.

Shit happens..my parent's 1.5 year old ML had its turbo blew, then A/C die, then blind spot failed in the span of 2 months. Got the dealer to take the car back a year early on the lease though.

At least your AC didn't die in middle of July. This weather is manageable and hopefully a quick fix. It took MB 4 weeks to fix their A/C.

Stuff happens. I wasn't even mad. My dealer takes good care of me. Put tons of miles on their loaner for a few days. Even kept it through the weekend and they didn't care.

OP have them look at the pressure switch. When I brought my car in there was another '13 S4 that had come in an hour before me with the same AC issue.

Did you park by the airport? Two of my buddies had that happen to them... quite common, and the VAG wiring apparently is more appealing than other cars.

BS that this stopped working on a +50k dollar car with < 20k miles.

Nothing to do with how much you paid or mileage. The AC in my new house went out and I paid way more than your Audi. Just get it fixed if you need your AC.

My 2013 S4 A/C went out after having the car for 13 days and with less than 300 miles on it. It was a bad pressure sensor.

Sounds like they had a vendor that produced some faulty sensors. Things happen. The dealer handled it really well, even filling up my gas tank for me.

AC compressors were failing left and right on the B6 A4/S4's. Happened to me right around 55k miles. Hopefully we're not seeing that same issue pop up here. You may also want to check that it's not your thermostat. How is your coolant temp? Are you hearing your engine fan running all the time?

Yep -- at the Colorado Springs airport. I read an article in the Denver Post mentioning similar problems at DIA.

Issue resolved. For now at least.

And, feedback on the 48K8 power steering update? Did you uncheck DSR before hand? Steering tighter/looser/etcs?

Your post is irrelevant.

so how is my post irrelevant? especially when alot of the members basically replied to your post the same as me, doesnt matter if your car is $50k or $150k, shit breaks regardless. You must be one of those that think the S4 is the chariot also and its gods gift to earth and Never has any problems, especially since its $50k+... SMH

They said it was a pressure switch. Temp was fine, nothing higher than normal. The fan was not running any different than normal. The only thing I noticed with the car was that I was getting quite a bit of condensation on the passenger side near the vent 24 prior to the issue. The SR stated that once that kind of part goes out, the vehicle doesn't know to kick on the ac so it blows out hot air.

I don't notice any difference with the way the car drives. That said, there was nothing odd or wrong with how it drove beforehand. I brought it in for an AC issue. They took the liberty in updating the software.
