Hey Y'all

Just picked up my S4 on Saturday, I am not 100% sure what features it was equipped with out of the factory. Its a 2010 DSG, 46k on the clock, black/white interior, Phantom black exterior, nav, 18" stockers.

So far I have had several issues pop up luckily there's some time left in the factory warranty. I'd say the most alarming issue happened this morning during a light rain, I tried to hit the brakes and the pedal started vibrating and wouldn't go down, none of the brakes came on luckily the street was empty so I was able to down shift using the flappy paddles.

Pretty scary though I was able to replicate the condition the whole drive home. When its dry they stop on a dime so something is off...

Anyways other than that giant issue the car is fantastic!

That is a pretty bad issue wow. Get that fixed ASAP.

But congrats on the car, post up some pics when you can or it did not happen lol.

Yeah I tried searching for a while I am 100% sure it's the ABS module/computer. Its really weird that no one has had anything similar come up, needless to say I am looking at an extended warranty.

POIDH!!

Nice panda leather! Sucks about the brakes... You can always use the electronic brake too in a real emergency.

Yea the black/white interior was one of the selling points for me, I was leaning towards alcantara but the "Panda" looks so damn good on a black car.

I'll need to play with the parking break in a parking lot, my first reaction was downshift and I couldn't do that so I down paddled haha. Keep in mind I am coming from a turbo RX-8 with two piece slotted rotors and 18x10 265/35 wheels.

I actually I just tried to replicate the issue after the roads and the car had dried off and was unable to. Which will most likely mean the dealer wont be able to either.

Sounds like it was ABS/hydro planing and not really an issue with the brakes. The wheels probably locked up for a second while off the surface and the ABS kicked on.

I wouldn't worry but if you think otherwise I'd have your dealer check it out under warranty. Otherwise I'm sure you'll get the usual you need this and that for several hundred cause your out of warranty.

Are you sure it just wasn't normal ABS operation? Were you perhaps going around the bend when it happened, or hitting the brakes hard, or perhaps just went through a puddle?

It happened as I was slowing down for a stop sign, the pedal vibrates as it would during normal ABS operation except there's no brakes at all and the car just keeps rolling. I used the parking brake trick today though, so that works for now. Oddly enough its only happening at one intersection and lasts for a few seconds then goes away so I think its an oil slick on the ground near the stop. I am getting new tires either way and will flush my brake system jsut ot be sure.

Fun Fact: Fort Worth Audi told me I had a factory warranty and I signed a form that said I had a factory warranty, The Audi in San Antonio informed me today that I did not have a warranty it had expired on 8/26 even though I am at 46k.

The only reason I bought this car was proximity (Texas) and 4k left on the factory warranty, my plan was to purchase an extended one through fidelity after I hit 50k. Oddly enough I do not have the copy of the form that says as-is or warranty, which I signed....
