Using in dash cup holder as integrated phone holder

Ok i have been sticking my iphone into the in-dash cup holder above the radio. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a product created to mound a phone into this spot or possibly the coin tray to the left of the hazard switch.

My car is an 04 A4 quattro im not sure which other models have the same cup holder or coin drawer.

If it dosent exist i may design some gismo to work in one of these spots and sell it on one of the 3d printing sites. I just dont want to do the work if there is something already out there.

Let me know if anyone's seen anything cool like this.

I have been using mine as a phone holder for years in the B5.

There is/areoff the shelf products avail to convert your ashtray into an iPod or iPhone holder with charging.

I just slide my phone into the cassette slot on the head unit. An Iphone with no cover on it is super close to the dimensions of a cassette tape, fits perfect, out of the way, easy to get to. For music, it all works via bluetooth so no reason to have it plugged in anymore.

I was thinking that if it was sitting upright in the coin tray or cup holder and facing the driver it would be easy to view the screen especially if using my phone as gps.

So it looks like it doesn't exist.

Does anyone know if All B6 bodies have the same coin tray and cup holders? What about B5 or B7's.

If you figure something out for the coin try, please post back. I think this is one of the most pointless things. Last thing I want is a tray on the upper part of my dash.
