Ordering a 2014 S4 today!!!

As the title says. I will be ordering my S4 today but still stuck on what color to get.
It is between Ibis White and Monsoon Grey.

Options I have settled on are set...
6MT
Sport Diff
Black optics pack
Bang & Olufsen
Carbon inlays

Any pros and cons on the two colors I am stuck between?

The grey will probably hide dirt a bit better. The white will hide scratches better. Black optic looks good on either one. Don't cheap out, get the Nav, it will allow you to have a bit more control over the Drive Select settings and you won't get lost. [;)]

I have Monsoon Grey and it's pretty easy to keep the appearance of "clean." Also, since it's gray, it obviously hides surface scratches pretty well. White may just require more regular cleaning, but it's a beautiful color, especially when paired with Black Optics.

Wouldn't get the car w/o Navi. You'll want the Bluetooth streaming along with all the other features only available with the MMI

They're listing it for 3k, which is BS. I got it in my new 2013 free... Maybe I was lucky and they were offering some rebate?

Agree on Nav and you should be able to get it for cheap (and screen is already there..... it's really just the software and probably a few internals to support to the Bluetooth, an extra button on the center console, etc.). It's not a $3,000 upgrade so you should be able to get it for cheap. It's the end of the month.... use that to your advantage.

I was torn between the same two color choices, and I'm sure I would have been happy with either. That being said, black optics being available on a 13 might have tipped the scales even more in favor of ibis... dat contrast.

Ibis White in my opinion it is the best white out there it may require more cleaning but it is worth it!

I also cratered to the wife and am going with leather (magma!)
and carbon inlays.

Still working on the pricing side of things and I am not really sold on the Nav since I hardly use it in my wife's car now.

IMHO, white is not a color , but a lack of it on a car. (I know about all the physics involved with the spectrum of visible light). Grey will not show the dirt. BTW, my 2010 S4 did not have nav and I didn't miss it. My 2014 does have it and although I like it , I'm really not sure how much i will use it. I do like the ability to have individual settings with the sport dif. If you are really looking to save some money, the nav is not necessary. But if you have the extra cash, go for it. You will love the car either way.

I got nav for the controls behind the shifter, 2 SD card slots, individual settings, nicer display and DIS, digital connection to the B&O amp, and backup camera. The nav functions were incidental. I don't regret it at all.

Love Ibis so much. If properly cared for, its shines like no other white. Almost heavenly. But grey is the best all around color, imo. Its the most depth and shine vs ease to maintain.

i had the salesman put ibis and monsoon right next to each other to help compare.
now all i have to do is wait for the car to come in.

I would have said to get white and apply the money saved to the MMI Nav. While you may not use the nav itself that much the seamless pairing of Bluetooth for phone, music etc.. is just awesome. It is also nice to just simply use voice commands to enter destinations etc.... I know that most of us have phones with many features but there are enough idiots on the road to be messing with my phone while driving. Anyway..... to each his own and congrats on the new order, now comes the crappy part...... WAITING FOR IT SUCKS!!!!

both colors are beautiful.. I miss my ibis.. such a perfect white IMO... monsoon is also gorgeous though.. Those would be the two I'd be between as well

not really looking at the resale aspect of this car.
when i get a new car i keep it for quite some time.
had my first truck (99 Ford Lightning with 536rwhp) for 12 years and had to sell due to not kid friendly.
i've had a cheap daily driver to get me buy for awhile until i decided on the S4.
i went back and forth with NAV or no NAV but figured i was not that interested in the extra $ so I did without.

Ibis is sick. I had a monsoon A4 and it was good too but Ibis attracts more attention. Honestly Phantom Black is a nice one too! My second choice.

Glacier white , best color and better than ibis as it's got a beautiful metallic tinge and looks wonderful at night under a light

Congrats on your order! I'm in the same boat as you (waiting), except I ordered mine a bit over a month ago (July 27th, but who's keeping track, right?)!

I also got 6MT, Sports Diff, Carbon, B&O, and the black optic package. I have the prestige package but went with the black on black alcantara seats... I sat in my brother's S4 and like the grip they have.

Anyways, congrats again, and yeah.... it will feel like forever!

Well I placed my order on the 20th of April when they were accepting orders for 2014 models. I have no idea when the dealer actually put in my order but they gave me my Commission number. I called them today & told me its should be in mid September which I wasn't really to pleased to hear. I need to find someone that could check tracking on new model orders.

That's a little disheartening. I also have not hear anything from my dealer. Thought the 3 month window is the max...but your story says maybe not. I'm on vacation next week, will probably start making some phone calls after to see if I can figure out a delivery date.

I got Monsoon and love it, no NAV. If you are keeping the car for a few years by the time you sell it or trade it in the NAV system will seem outdated and shitty, it will not be adding considerable value, I just don't buy that idea. 5 year old electronics are ancient and crappy, always are. To each his own though.

Down the road my phone, watch and who knows what else will be way better systems than the in car NAV system.

There are options to keep your connection running once your complimentary Audi Connect service expires so you can keep this functionality without having to pay $30/month (P-Tel prepaid).

Mine took 14 weeks. I ordered it October 28, 2012 and it arrived at the dealer February 14. I was kind of pissed as well but oh well. You'll forget about that as you're driving off the lot. The wait doesn't get any easier though.

Did either of you with new orders consider the ADS to go along with the diff or are you planning on aftermarket etc.
I have an order in and went with ADS as its going to be a daily driver on all sorts of roads.

I know that you've already ordered but I'm going to jump on the pile. I have the full Nav/MMI in my car and I really like the system. The Bluetooth connectivity for media/phone is very easy and effective. I really like the system. I have Alcantara also. I'm somewhat concerned about durability but I'm single, no kids and I take good care of things so I'm hoping to mitigate the weaknesses of the material a bit with constant care.
