View Full Version : Insurance for 2001 Audi S4 - is $1,000 yr overpriced for book value covrerage?

I just got my bill and found out my insurance is charging $500 every 6 months for full coverage insurance on a car I use for pleasure. The value of the car is far more then they will cover unless I pay big money for coverage of 20K, so I'm thinking of dropping to liability only or switching insurance companies for this one car. I own a 2010 toyota tundra and this is more then that. It doesn't make a lot of sense or does it?

Who do you use and what is your cost?

How old are you? We pay $1600/ year for our Impreza and the S4, both full coverage and $1000 deductible with American Family. My driving record is not clean. If you have a $500 deduct then you may be able to raise to $1000 and lower you premium.

Age, where you live, deductible, your driving record... all those play a factor in your insurance. Live way out in the country, you'll pay a little. Live in the hood, with no garage/place to secure the vehicle... hand over your wallet.

36, no tickets. boulder, Colorado

Just checked with state farm $570 every six months. farmers is $500 every six months.

Maybe I should make this car liability only, it gets driven 300 miles month max

I pay $560 every six months through state farm, seems to be the going rate. My insurance actually went up from my Jeep SRT8 to a B5 S4 [confused]

I would just get collector car insurance if it's garaged and barely driven. I've heard they're like $100/year. Hagerty, American National(chrome program) and Grundy are a couple of them.

When i signed up with state farm i had 0 tickets when i switched from my 99Sh prelude to the s4 i had 2 tickets but great thing about them is they don't look at points or tickets unless your license is pulled into review
