Yep, you can, need a converter for the lines.
No switched fuse in the trunk area on the 2013+, have to run a wire all the way up front :(

or you can buy an Alpine amp like me that had line level inputs and remote on sensing. Only wire run to the front of my car is the base control knob.
get one of these:

OK thank you for this - is it easy enough to leave it to the lads at Best Buy or do I need someone more inclined? (or the like)

You will also need to buy a amp install kit to get all the required wiring (and the base control kob if you want).
The amp can even be installed right next to the factory amp as there is space.
I would go to Visions and should get a good price. Best buy in Calgary is not doing car audio sales/installation anymore.
A good installer should take 2 hours tops to do it. Make sure they dont hack up you factory sub wires as you can easily remove the amp and box if you sell the car and hook the factory sub back up.
This setup will shake your head if you turn the bass up (I use to have a 138DB audiophile quality car back in th early 90's so I know what this really means)
You will also need to hit a car store and buy a couple of tie-downs to keep the box in place.
All said you should be good to go.

you need both
the box is NOT a powered box

So I bought that amp, hooked it up to replace my existing. Used a direct connection from the stock sub wires into the wire harness they provide.
Out chnl 1&2 together (so 2 +, and 2- connected together in the harness then those connect to the + and - from stock sub wires)
Light always on.... Doesn't turn off when I lock the car.
Any thoughts? Did I wire it wrong coming from the stock sub wires?

I added a sub enclosure to my 2013 as soon as I got it. A couple of things I certainly recommend are removing the B&O sub enclosure as this will allow air/sound movement more freely into the cabin area (huge improvement). Another is a bass control knob. The B&O like most factory systems tends to be bass heavy at lower volumes and then leans back the bass gain as volume increases. I am running a 12" Alpine sub in a small enclosure box (0.8 cubic feet) powered by a kicker 500.1 mono amp. Amp is mounted in the drivers side cubby in the rack with the factory amp. LOC was used to tap the signal from the factory sub harness. The setup sounds insanely good. With the battery in the trunk and area to place the amp this was by far the easiest car I have ever added a sub to...... I have subs/amps in all of my cars, amazing how you can transform a decent premium stock system into a monster.

Does this amp have a remote turn on lead or is an that senses signal and turns on and off. If it has a lead you need to find a 12v switched source for that lead. Otherwise it will stay on all the time.

Fixed it, I got this amp so I wouldn't have to use a remote turn on, just had to adjust some wiring now it goes off after 1 minute of the car being locked. Win!

I am buying a subwoofer, amp, and box on Thursday and I was wondering how exactly I tap into the factory stereo in the trunk? Is there a kit I need to buy? My dad added a subwoofer in his ram truck and had to buy a kit to tap into the factory subwoofer wiring. I just want to make sure I have everything when it comes to installing the stereo. I bought a amp wiring kit that includes 4 gauge power wire, 4 gauge ground wire, 16 gauge remote turn on wire, 12 gauge speaker wire, and RCA cables.

or read the whole thread - I have already answered your questions Matt.
bottomline - get an amp with speaker level input and remote sensing built in and tap the sub speaker line and you are gtg.

the setup I listed will work with any car. No guinea pig required.
you will not be compromising the stock system at all as the only 3 connection to the existing system are speaker line redirected, power, and ground.
