Hey guys,
Once in a while I share a project if we do something to my old B8. This is Anthracite Grey True Metallic Plasti Dip. Stock color is Ibis White. I'll throw the video on here too after it's done uploading if anyone wants to see.

That looks great. When I tried the silver True Metallic, I found that it was tougher to spray because it would pile on top of itself if you overlapped. I ended up having to do long, even strokes to avoid this. Did you experience this at all with the gray?

Nope no trouble at all. The trick is to remember the True Metallics have metallic sediments in them, so get your overlaps, but don't let the product pool up too much.

Like the color ... looks good and ... different.
Just do not like the combination with those wheels and their color. Maybe with silver/other color wheels to match the alum trim?

How similar is this to the dark charcoal gray? I love this color but a standard color is a bit more worry free about the metallic build up for my first time spraying.

It's very different actually. The standard grey is a flat, simple color. This has metallic effects and a sheen. I hate to use this cliche.. but the camera simply doesn't do much justice. The flat colors are a little bit easier to spray though.

Do you have any Titanium BBS wheels you can picture next to that color? Trying to get rid of the chrome rings without needing to plastidip the entire wheel and get close to the BBS Titanium color.

I just dipped my S4 last week. Looks great. However, the bead area where the rim makes contact with rubber on load (mainly the front) is starting to peel. Any suggestions?

You can get those on TireRack for like +/- $2500. Great price for some great looking wheels.

Every manufacturer is going to roll out the matte grey paint in the next three years. You can get it on a C63 and on a RS7 right now:

I have the same problem with my Peelers as well with the matte black. Always seems to peel on the edge. I think the only way would be to unmount the tires...
However, thanks for the photo as I'm about to change the dip to this as well.

I heard that insurance on the matte grey cars is much higher because if you need to paint any repaired damage you need to respray the whole car. This was confirmed by my SA and my brother who owns a body shop. Something about it not being able to blend in with original panels, etc.

Hey I have a black B8 S4. All stock. Anyone ever try two tone with plasti dip. I was thinking tape up the center spoke in each of the 5 spokes and dip everything else black. I know fonzi used this approach with the gold metallic underneath.
I would just like to see it before I tried if anybody has done it.

Leave the black & silver wheels to the bro trucks.
