Hello,
I have TSW's on my car and currently do not have aftermarket accessory coverage with my insurance company, as it is kind of pricey. I've been trying to find an answer, but haven't found one yet, even after calling my insurance company, who also couldn't give me a straight answer. In the event that my wheels get stolen, does anyone know if insurance would at least provide me with replacement OEM wheels or would I be out of luck with no replacement at all? Been seeing a lot of pics lately of wheels getting stolen and just want to make sure my bases are covered in the unfortunate event that it does happen.
Thanks

Get wheel locks.
Already have a set on, but probably won't stop a determined thief

I would think that at the least they would cover OEM replacements. I purchased the wheel and tire protection with my car and asked if I altered my wheels if they would still be covered ie: paint or powder coat. I was told they would still cover the wheel but not pay for the repainting or re powdercoating. I would think it should be along the same lines. Also you're right about the wheel locks, if someone wants the wheels they will find a way. I work in the office at a repair shop and when people get tire services and we can't find their wheel lock key or they lost it, we can still get the wheels off and then just replace the lugs

I hope you're right...I decided not to get aftermarket coverage because it would be ~$250 for the year for about only $1450 in coverage after deductibles. Just purchased a tilt sensor for fairly cheap...at least that will give me a bit more peace of mind
Factory wheels are worth more than your TSWs most likely.

Yeah pretty sure they are, but not sure if insurance would cover them in the event they get stolen though since they're considered aftermarket and I don't have aftermarket accessory coverage

Allstate, replaces any parts that exist where stock parts were. If you upgrade your stereo and replace your stock CD player with new cd player and stock speakers with new speakers they'll replace them. However if you add new things such as subs, amps, and otherwise that aren't stock replacements it requires additional coverage.
I also believe they have limits obviously, to prevent people from replacing steering wheels with solid gold and then reporting them stolen ;)

If your wheels get stollen then report your wheels stollen. Your insurance will cover the OEM wheels.
Think about it logically for a moment.
Now - if you want additional coverage because your aftermarket wheels are worth MORE than your OEM wheels then you will have to pay additional coverage for that.
Call your dealership - ask how much list price is on your OEM wheels and see if they are more or equal to your aftermarket ones... if yes then don't worry about it you're golden.

No, I know that most likely my OEM wheels are worth more than the TSW's, but I was just thinking of a "what if" situation if say only 2 wheels are stolen and an adjuster came out and saw clearly that my other 2 wheels aren't OEM. I guess my fear is that since they're not OEM, insurance can possibly say that they wouldn't be covered and I'd be SOL

I had Esurance when 2 of my aftermarket rims were bent. What they did was give me the value of the OEM rims. My BBS's cost more than the stock OEM rims so they didn't fully reimburse me for the full BBS cost, but stock OEM rims are so damn expensive it wasn't really that much of a difference.

If you called your insurance company and no one there can give you a strait answer about a coverage question like that, you probably need a new insurance company.

I totally agree...its Progressive btw, but their policy is at least $700 cheaper/yr than everywhere else I've looked with the same limits. Dunno why that is, but until I find an insurance thats within the same ballpark price, I guess I'm stuck with them
