Your profile says you have a 1998. If it's a 1.8t engine, that would be the AEB engine. The AEB has an ignition amplifier (called the ICM) mounted on the air box. The ICM is a common fail part. When these start to fail, often times the channel for cylinder #2 dies first. You probably need a new ICM. When you change it out, apply a small dab of thermal conductive paste to the bottom where it contacts the metal heat-sink it's mounted on. This part is a set of solid-state switches that rapidly open/close and control when electricity is allowed to flow through the coils. During operation this part generates heat. The thermal paste and heat-sink are there to keep the part from cooking itself to death (similar to a heat-sink on a computer chip). You can get this paste at computer stores.
