I was just wondering if anyone has ever power coated a set of titanium style wheels before. I was trying to see if hyper black/black chrome would look good on those wheels.
thanks

Look up Greedo Winter Mode in the B6 section .... His first few posts are about powdercoating OEM wheels.

Be careful. Lots of horror stories on powdercoating wheels and them breaking due to the heating process.
...or is this a myth?

Wheels are powdercoated to different color finish at wheel refinishers, it's not about powdercoating as much as it is about a quality wheel....Many of the wheels bought cheaply are just that.... Cheaply made wheels who don't comply with established stress test.... Other's may very well be wheels that were stressed beyond their limits....
If you are tracking your 3,000 lbs+ car than common sense should prevail in ensuring that the wheels on the car are up to the challenge....
When racing or tracking, things break due to the stresses.....
Powdercoating should be done correctly to a viable set of wheels, if you can't then have a shop do it, I was coated $500 to have all 5 of my S4 wheels redone in a Gunmetal powdercoat. Even though I could do it, there's no way I could do it myself for that when time, expense and all is added up ....

I can't recall who but you can buy Ti reps in black. Search here and there's a thread about painting Ti's black and I photoshopped black Ti wheels on pics of a few members' cars
