My stock K03 burnt up so I replaced it with a K04. Now I wanting to chip the car but I don't know what I should go with. I'm not looking for a huge power gain being that the rest of the motor is stock. I'm not to familiar with this type of stuff but am wanting to learn. Any advice with what would be the best next step would be greatly appreciated.

Probably a custom tune.

Or GIAC OTS tune.

What about an APR stage I or stage II?

That will be a tune for a regular K03.

You will not be benefiting too much from having a K04.

Why don't you wait unti September and buy a united motorsports tune from aptuning. That's what I'm doing since the tunes should go on sale in September and will be $100 off. I'm planning in getting the 440cc tune for my wife's frankenturbo'd a4. The tune should work great for the ko4 as well and still have enough fueling if you upgrade. The tune is 500 now, but will be 400 during the sale which is a great deal. I haven't heard anything bad about united. I have a custom 034 Motorsport tune on my a4 which cost me close to 1k. If I would have known about united Motorsport several years ago, I would have saved a bunch.

Use a MBC and for the record they are base tunes.

I had a K04 PC16 on my car for some time and could not have been happier. To run it they suggest fmic (which I never had), and upgraded inlet, injectors, FPR, and exhaust but this tune made the most of the K04 safely. It was an absolute blast to own. They have a K04 tune that uses the stock injectors but requires a 5 bar FPR so that might be a good option for you.
