Hi guys,
I ran into some road debry and it kicked back to my passenger side front door creating a big dent at the bottom of the door right below the door crease. [headbang]
I already had a couple "Big Box" dent removal companies looked at it, but they don't want to tackle it as they are more geared for smaller dents and dings removal.
I'm looking for a true top dent removal person in the Atlanta area that someone could recommend before I send the car to a regular collision shop. I want to avoid having the paint messed with. [:(]
Thanks!!

I think that's a big dent for a PDR guy, i have a small one in the same spot and have at appt. saturday, but was told that because its on the crease it will be much harder to smooth out.

Thanks guys. Yes, I have already talked to David. He had actually removed a door ding on this same car when it was only few weeks old. He did an awesome job and you can't tell where the ding was. He is out of town this week, but I texted him these pictures and he said that the dent looked too deep and that the metal had probably streched too much.
However, wanted to get a second opinion. Don't want to perform major surgery on my 10 month old car yet. Got a $1,700 quote from Performance Collision in Roswell. It involves a repaint of the whole door and blend to the rear door and front fender too.

That should be no problem at all. I had a much worse dent on my front driver's side wheel well right on the crease (shopping cart despite my best efforts to position my car out of harms way too) and had a PDR guy in Smithtown (Bobby Dent Devil) take care of it no problem. Car looks perfect.

I dont think a PDR can get that out completely. Might be able to make it look better but doubt it will be perfect again.

Thanks! I just came back from Atlanta Dent company and talked to Troy over there. He said the same thing, that the metal looks like it has streched too much.
I also called another one that was recommended to me. He is mobil and came out to me. He looked at it and also said that it won't be 100% perfect, but he can get most of it out to almost not noiticeable for about $200. He called it "90% out".
So, I'm debating now on trying him out and see if it is good enough, or taking it to Performace Collision. Deductible on insurance is $500. I'm more concerned on having to dismantle the whole side of the car, mirror, inside panels for both doors, and having a primer and respray on that door plus the front fender and the rear door blended in--- or try the dent guy, live with the 10% imperfcetion and have the rest of the car and paint untouched.
What to do?? [confused]

Finally ran into a group of Atlantans! You guys should have came to the Helenback with Audi Club of Georgia last Saturday it was great. We had a meet and greet. We drive around Blood Mountain and had some lunch together. One of my buddies was driving a RS5.

I had a (much worse) dent/scrape on my front fender. David looked at it, and recommended I take it to another shop he recommended on the same street he's on. They wanted ~$1200. I did a lot of searching, and ultimately settled on on North Perimiter Collision. Though he did have to paint mine, he did manage to get the dent out without even removing the panel, and it was ~$700, I believe. The place looks rather sketchy (he shares land with a junk yard in Chamblee), but does very good work for a very good price. I also removed my dash surround and had him paint it gloss black at the same time he did the fender, that was only ~$70 more. I would recommend him if you get to the point of going to a full body shop. And have your dash painted at the same time... looks much better than that silver shit Audi gives us, and now Dwayne @ N. Perimiter has experience doing that. [:)]

I would rather take the risk of getting a PDR to fix it than having it resprayed and fixed. Just trying to get the over spray off afterwards would drive more crazy than having a slight ding in my door. Plus no one can paint as good as the robots in Germany.

Thanks. Yes, he recommended the same shop down the street to me. I have had excellent results with Performance on previous Audi's and on my 993 Porsche. I think however that I'm leaning towards giving the Dentless solution a try first and see if I can live with the imperfection before I consider taking it to a full body shop. Thanks for the info on Dwayne, I will check him out.

Yeah, I'm with you. After sleeping on it, I think I'll give the PDR route a try. Worst case scenario is that I may not like the end result after spending the $200, and having it to take to a full body shop. Considering that the dent is at the bottom rocker panel, and if he can fix the crease line back to normal, I think I rather live with the small imperfection that may left over, than having the whole side of the car stipped, bondo, primed, sanded and sprayed. I've taken cars to Performance Collison before and these guys are A-1 and I know that the end result would be awesome, but if I can avoid having that much paint work done on a 10 month old car, that'd be much better.

Update. The PDR guy came out yesterday and tried for 2 hours. I did make it a lot better, but the deeper dent can't be taken out. The metal is too streched and it either pops completely out, or back in. He said that it wasn't the 90% that he promised so he didn't charged me anything. I gave him a nice bottle of wine. He is very good, and comes to you. Highly recommended. If anyone needs dent removal services, check him out. His name is Monte Joiner, and his company is Dent Science 404-805-1086.
So, at the end, it looks like I have no choice but to take it the the shop. Thank guys for all the recommendations. I'll post back once I get my car back. Excuse me...I'm going to a dark room and cry a little...
