I'm trying to decide between AWE and Borla and I see comments about having to adjust the AWE system post-installation. Is it a given that adjustments will have to be made later or does a quality initial installation offset that? I know there are not as many Borla systems out there but curious if any owners want to weigh in on overall fit.

I own an AWE and am very pleased. There was little adjusting for me when installing the exhaust but I would have to believe no matter what system you get you will have some tweaks to make.

Any exhaust system will likely have to be adjusted post-install, fitment can change slightly after the metal has heat cycled and as any bushings, hangers, etc. settle into place.

Mine AWE had to be adjusted once. No regrets.... it's a fantastic system.

If fit is a big concern, maybe wait for the SPM which is going to come out soon. It features V band clamps instead of slip joints which has some folks jazzed up.

My AWE exhaust is a little off, the left side pipes point in. I made hours of adjustments from the tips all the way to the first clamps on the DPs and while it looks damn close it is still a little off.

But to best honest I still need to sent Will @ AWE photos. He offered to take care of it and I have been slacking. I've had a bunch of their stuff on my S4s over the years and they have been fantastic with addressing not only my concerns with quick cross shipment of parts, but also with those of others that I have seen on these boards.

Borla isn't widely talked about on here, and while they have been around forever and make good products they just don't have a presence with the B8 like AWE does.

It has more to do with how good your installer is than anything else. An experienced exhaust shop can tweak the hangers, tips, etc as needed.

Borla is slip-joint just like AWE and Miltek, so need to adjust will be exactly the same.
