Hi all,

I know little about sound systems. But when I purchased my car it came with an aftermarket sound system. The previous owner gave me the stock sound system with the car. After learning it was worth a bit, I decided to swap out the aftermarket for stock. I have now been trying to sell the aftermarket system on craigslist for about 1 month with no offers.

Please take a look at my post and tell me if I am doing something wrong: link (http://greenbay.craigslist.org/ele/3939915714.html). Should it been in car section or electronic section? Popular tags? Is price fair? How hard is it to sell as a whole?

Thank you for any insight guys. I appreciate your help

There is nothing particularly wrong with your ad, but in my opinion (bought a bunch of used stereo equipment) very few people will want to buy a whole system. If it were me, I would split the ad up and sell things individually. Also, make sure to list the model number of the Polk speakers, Sirius Tuner and Alpine subwoofer (the newer Type R will sell quicker). I have also read that selling used subwoofers can be tough, simply because people have no way of knowing how hard it was pushed. I just noticed as well that you have 4 amplifiers listed, I am assuming you only have 2, in which case make sure to remove the others... do you have an F450? or an F250? an M650 or an M450? That will make a big difference as it's not clear which you have with both listed.

I would list the prices as:
Alpine mrp-f450/mrp-f250 4 channel amplifier - $125-$150
Alpine mrp-m650/mrp-m450 mono power amplifier - $125-$150
Alpine type r 12" subwoofer - Assuming it's not the latest version $75-$100
Polkaudio 2 midwoofers, 2 tweeters, 2 crossovers - Depends on the model, Polk have a pretty wide range of prices on component speakers.
Sirius satellite radio - What model is this? Does it connect to OEM stereo? Aftermarket Stereo? Probably worth about $50
All cables included for complete install - Assuming it's power/ground/RCA cables.... the RCA cables depend on the brand, power/ground cables depend on the gauge. I would probably just toss them in with the amps to make life easier on yourself (unless they are really large power wires, in which case you can likely sell them)

Are you a member of Caraudio.com? Probably worth listing everything there, last I checked it was free. You just have to be prepared to be asked a bunch of questions since they are all (understandably) worried of scammers. If you post over there let me know the link.
