First, I have a 1999 A4 B5 Quattro with the 2.8L engine.

I had a bad AC compressor, and now I have a new one. While installing the new compressor, I noticed the bolts wouldn't stop spinning. Upon further inspection, the threads in the compressor's mounting bracket had been stripped.

That was a couple days ago. I have since re-threaded the mounting bracket, but I can't seem to find the torque rating for the bracket-to-engine bolts. I haven't attempted re-mounting anything yet (bracket included) because I seem to have a bad history or stripping or cross threading... threads, regardless of how careful I try to be.

I've done about a half hour of research through a handful of manuals and all through google, but I can't find the proper torque specifications for these bolts. If you guys help me out, I'll love you forever.

Bentley manual says 18ft-lbs for both Bracket to Engine and compressor to bracket bolts.

bentley makes repair manuals for cars, the torque specs mentioned are factory specs for the bolts in question.
