225 has twin intercoolers, and all 2002 225s have quattro, and are heavier as a result.

since 225hp is heavier, think 180hp quatro is a beter option?

The quatrro system is what adds most of the weight. For 2002 the 180 does made with quttro, and the 225 is only quattro.
Drive both, I did, and was slod on the extra power and handling. We had a weekend and Laguna Seca that was rain soaked, making the track very slippery. The quattro system handled it very well, and we all had a blast, while at least on M3 went home early because the track was too slippery.

what does it take to install a k04 (stock 225) on a 180 engine?

More than its worth seeing as ATP is coming out with the k04 eliminators for the 1.8T transverse engine soon.

You need the turbo, exhaust manifold, custom downpipe, custom piping to get to your IC, and software to make use of it.

If you have a FWD, you can copy the setups the GTI guys use to do it. If you have a quattro, you would have to figure it out yourself. It wouldn't be hard for a shop to do but its not like you can just order a few parts from your local audi dealer and bolt it up.
