View Full Version : Auto Dim Mirror?
My 2013 S4 Auto Dim mirror "light" does not come on when I push the button. Before I bring it in to dealer, any suggestions / experiences? Not sure if it dims or not yet, but the light never comes on as the manual says it should. Also not sure if it has a compass either ( I do have Nav option so it may not have it with nav)

Your compass should show red in the upper right corner. If you have a button on your mirror that means you have auto dimming and something is not working. I'd just take it to the dealer.

Pressing the button turns on/off the auto-dimming. Pressing and holding the button turns on/off the compass.

If your rear window in tinted it won't work

That's false, My whole car is double 5% with 50% on the whole front window and it still works.

Yeah , mine has never done anything when pushing or holding the button so must be set off. looks like the dealer is the only option...

My back and side windows are also tinted and have not had this issue.

I agree, i've only had mine for 2 weeks but the button should work as TSlice mentioned. To the dealer you go!

Since neither the compass or the auto-dimming light appear to be working, wouldn't it be easier/simpler to first check the fuse before going to the dealer? The owner's manual (and the fuse panel sticker) should list the fuse position.

Ummm...yep
Is it me or does the fuse cover in inside of drivers door require "plastic breaking" force to pull off?? I really think I am going to snap something to be able to remove it? Is this normal?
