My 2013 is in the shop this week getting some goodies installed. AWE and Alu Kreuz are done along with the rear springs, but my guy just called and said the front springs may have to be done elsewhere. Great guy and very knowledgeable mechanic, but its a small local shop. Is there any difference between a B8 and B8.5 front suspension regarding this install? He's hesitant to tear into such a new car without a better handle on the situation...

You should ask him, why he cannot change the front springs. There are a lot of tricks to making it easier.

Thanks, fellas. I texted him the link and advised that they should be easier than the rear.

I found the rear way easier. Compress spring, jam 4 foot pry bar in lca pull down, spring pops out. Compress h&r spring align rock sheild and top rubber and put new one in.

Sounds like he may not have a spring compressor that's up to the task. Does it take a pretty heavy duty one for the front?

What compressor did you use for the rears, i borrowed the standard compressors and they wouldnt fit between the coils on the OE springs. The pry bar got them out in zero time.

I used the type without the safety pin. It is tight but doable. I just used one and only had to compress them an inch or so. The front you barely have to compress
