Hello there...

As you guys noticed; I'm new here and all the way from Belgium... [drive]

Maybe one of you guys has the solution to my question for my [s3] ...

For over more than 1 year I'm searching for a HIGH QUALITY blow off valve for my 1.8T engine...:
http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/8574/dsc01005small1ol.jpg

I already installed a 'Bonalume' blow off valve... Which is quite known in Europe for being a good blow off valve... But on my engine it caused nothing but trouble... [=(] Still the sound was AWSOME!!!

I already talked to different experts concerning a blow aff valve. And each and every one of them told me that I shouldn't put one of those things on my turbo... Still I love the sound of those things... [mad]

So maybe you guys know a company that I can contact, who might offer me a blow off valve that wouldn't cause trouble to my engine...

The only thing people here in Europe advise to me is to buy a Forge diverter valve... But than I still won't have the PSSSSSSSSSHHHHHT! [:D]

So hopefully you guys can help...

I would only advise a BPV on our Audi's...as the system cannot compensate for loss to atmosphere.

Forge or Bailey are top notch...

BOV's are not for Audi's

You could always try an intake, it will accentuate the sound of the turbo spooling up...

Get the Forge Blow off valve.

I went to the site of Forge... But am I mistaking, or do they only offer diverter valves and no Blow off valves...??? Because I want a BLOW OFF VALVE! [=(]

Still, I found this at the Neuspeed site...; hybrid blow off valve 1.8T (http://neuspeed.com/products/product_details.asp?app=31|G4&type=11&ltype=ns_euro&p_id=1835)

Sorry for being such a pain in the ass... But I'm convinced that there are BOV's that do not hurt the 1.8T engine... I once went to W├Ârtersee in Austria (one of the biggest VAG events in Europe) and there I saw two S3's with an BOV who seemed to have no problem at all... [:(]

Ps; @ GTRchop88: could you give me more specs or even a link of your Forge BOV please??? Thanks man!

^^ Do your research and find out what we all have discussed time and time again. BOV's make our cars run rich. You need that air you are releasing into the atmosphere with the BOV. It is metered. Get convinced that an intake and metal BPV will give you a good enough sound without causing issues with your car.

Ok... [up]

Thanks for the advice... [;)]

An intake I already found at the forge site.

But WTF is a metal BPV??? [confused]

Bypass Valve. Metal ones are normally Forge, Bailey, EVO, etc... An Audi one that is also commonly used is the TT225 BPV. It's called the 710N

if you want the bov sound with no problems, get a gfb hybrid bov, it recirculates 50% of the air so it wont cause any oroblems. I've been running if for months now with no problems. You can even get the gfb stealth fx valve which you can go whatever percent bov or bpv you want, all from the twist of a knob on the valve, but the only downside is that the stealth valve is like 350$

EVO valve sounds great.

Unless you're doing serious engine mods that change the air/fuel intake/return set up and require a BOV/dump valve, stick with a recirculating/plumback type...

Forge FMDVRA (http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0105&product=FMCL007PA)

You want fast response, quality, not PSSSSSSSHHHHHT venting to atmosphere sound effects (as cool or annoying as they are).

I use their DVR (before they offered the adjustable top).

And stay away from the "Filter-on-a-Stick", "Hot-Air-Intakes".

According to this website, this one is "specifically designed" for the 2.0T FSi engine. Is this BS? Just curious as I don't know much about the Audi, I'm comig from a WRX where BOV's were ok.

Thoughts?
Discussions?

I've got the adjustable bov by FORGE, haven't experienced any problems.
If ever i'd like to recirculate the air, all i do is shut her valve.
There are three positions of desired sound on this one. Good luck.

This will probably be the best valve for your needs:

We've done extensive testing with absolutely no issues [:D]

BOVs ok in the WRX community? I think there are several thousands of people on NASIOC that would draw and quarter you for saying that [:)]

Anyways, yes, FSIT and FSITA spacers were specifically designed for the 2.0 FSI motors and operate flawlessly.
