I searched and searched for the answer to this but didn't really find anything. I'm putting in an after market HU and am only getting sound from the fronts. The back of the Symphony/Bose unite looks like this"\:

So I have 5,6,7,8 for the front speakers. Which led me to think that if I put the remote wire to 11 and, from what I read, put RCA connectors on 9,10 and plug those in the RCA spots in the back of the HU and all will be well (I used those in line splicers instead of cutting the harness). That's what I did and got the power to the Bose amp wire (didn't check at the amp). Still no rears.

Then there is this speaker wire that someone put in the hole in the antenna in the bottom corner:

I know I'm getting close and this proved to be more difficult than I thought. I've radios in at least 10 cars, mostly Japanese, with zero problems. Thanks for any help.

The RCA ends I put on don't have a ground wire, is that all I'm missing?

COM is a common ground for all the line level outputs.

Did a little searching and I built the RCA's wrong. I'll try again when I get home form work.

Had similar prob when installing my system. In short it's your rear amp not powering up. All you need is a total of 5 wires coming to the amp. I assume you know which ones.lol
In my case it was remote wire that had a broken connector.

Not quite right, his amp will be powering on/off. However, his Bose amp is not getting left and right rear audio signals without the ground wires of his left & right home made rca's connected to the com pin of the bose amp/std wiring harness.
