Yeah, just bored today. I plan to run snow tires on these factory rims. Waiting for my 18's to ship out from ECS.Tuning. Bought some Alzor 881's . They look like LM's.

I guess if you're bored you could for winter wheels. Use white plastidip so you can take a mulligan if you need to.

I think winter wheels are a good for experiments. White would look good.

I plan on doing white for my winter wheels as well (16" swings).

Side note: Stock non-sport B5 looks same height as an X3 SUV.

Originally I thought to buy some LM 18" knock offs, but I really need to lower this Avant and fix my struts. Solution....

Then buy some new tires. Solution...

Then paint my factory rims.....the question is what color....white or silver....or something else....

You will hate trying to keep white wheels clean.

The only great snow tire is the Cooper Weathermaster ST/2. Blizzak smizzak, Michelin penicillin, Nokian... Actually I may be onto something with the Nokian..

Cooper for price and 99% Greatness. Nokian for 100% greatness at the cost of 9 arms, 4 legs and your first borns first name. If anyone begs to differ, you can go shoot yourself in the foot and I will pick up the popcorn to watch you bleed out. I will supply the gun.

If you think you are right, EVEN for ONE SECOND, think again. Because, you are wrong... Awaiting the grammar natzi anytime now..

What's the widest or smartest width to run on the 16X7? 205/40

on a 7" wide wheel you can run 225/50's or 235/50's. The 225's will fit fairly square and the 235's will be very meaty.

Finally bought some wheels. Given that its a B5 I thought these would look the best.

Now the question? What size tires? 225/45's or 225/40's

Obviously, I don't want them to rub. I plan to buy some FK's Highsports when my wife gives me some $$$ [hail]

Nice. I run 225/45 and have never had any problems. 3 years and going great

Skinnier tires are usually better for snow and ice than wide tires. On a 7" wheel, I'd do either a 205 or even a 195.
