This car will be the first lease that i've ever done and want to know all I can so I wont get taken for a ride. Im looking into the new a4 and have been reading up on how to negotiate on price and terms for the lease. Im looking at the 2.0 quattro, 36 month lease with 15K miles/yearI'd like to hear some input from those who have done a new a4 lease, or know something about the whole process. I know to always get the "out the door" price before negotiating terms, but how bout these points:

- Can YOU ever get the dealer to negotiate off of the invoice/price the DEALER PAYS?

- Are the incentives that the dealer gets (what audi will give to the dealer for just selling/leasing the car), will they negotiate/give some of that $$ back to you?

- Any other heads-up to look for when negotiating?

- If you guys/gals dont mind, what r u paying per months w/ taxes?

Thanks for any Help
-Ryan

I'm all about leasing! Its the best way to go for me because I can write it off. I only pay the drive off fee and get the least amount of miles(10K). They try and sell you on 15K cause they make more money! I also drive 25K a year! At the end of my lease I sell the car privately and pay off the lease, so at that point they don't care about the car, its condition, or its miles. The only time they care about the miles is if you turn it in at the end and walk away. Then they will get you for the miles. Why do that when you can sell it for more on the private market?

I only paid the drive off fee and got my loaded B7 for $500 over invoice. With tax, I'm at $500

you can pay for more miles. I am not sure how much it effects the payment. The "new year" for the car business is august/september. thats when the deals come around

sorry didnt pick up on that...
My friend works in the auto bus. and we went over some #s last night and im now torn between a lease and financing thru a third party. I might as well pay off the loan as i go and then when im done with the car in xx amount of years i can sell it privatly and make a couple of $$'s, and not get raped by all of the dealer fee's for breaking my loan.

Most people don't understand the in's and outs of leasing, and after long explanations, they still don't understand it. Leasing is not for everyone, especially people that think they will keep their cars longer than the term of the lease.

Here are some heads up when it comes to leasing...

Whatever price you negotiate to is the same price that you would pay if you were to buy the car.

When you lease, you are still financing the car, but only the amount that you "borrow" - miles, months, depreciation rate as forecasted by whoever is underwriting the financing (typically Audi Financial).

If this is your first lease, you will probably get hosed on the money factor. Money factor is a stupid decimal # that you can multiply by 2400 to get an equivalent APR interest rate.

Try to put as close to $0 down as possible on a lease. If the car is totaled, you are out that amount of money.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Ive heard about the money factor, but that seems t be the only thing bout leasing i really dont understand...
Least amount down is what im going for.
My friend puts dealers into the dealerships so ill be able to get a car for just a little over what they pay for them, plus the kickback ill be giving to his friend. But i believe a lease is for me. I dont want the car more then 36/39 months.

I was going to finance it but I was saving over $8000 of taxes overall so I leased my first car.

Paid $350 up front including DMV fees here in CA. And walked off with monthly payment

Leased at 15k miles for $550/month including tax.

Car was fully loaded quattro manual, $250 below invoice.

I'll probly buy it too after lease cuts out in 3 years.
