I have a 2013 Audi A6 Premium Plus Quattro.
I have just purchased a Kindle Fire HD 7 tablet.

Can I pair them via the Bluetooth technology each has? If so, I would appreciate step by step instructions to do so.

I have tried and failed. Don't know if it is my lack of knowledge or that the A6 and Kindle are incompatible.

Bluetooth is bluetooth. It should work just fine. I think the problem is you dont have your audio setting activated for bluetooth.

Press the telephone button > Settings > scroll to bluetooth and make sure that bluetooth audio is clicked "on".

Now pair the kindle. Then press the media button and then source. You should see the kindle show up as a bluetooth option.

Thank you for your replies.

I had looked at the Audi manual and also the videos on the Audi website. The Bluetooth features and Wi-Fi features on both the Audi and Kindle are activated to allow usage.

The manual documentation and the videos refer to pairing cell phones and certain audio devices in the Media section. The Kindle is not listed on compatible devices. Nevertheless, a rep on the chat site at Audi Corporate attempted to guide me through doing the pairing via Media.

The problem is that the Audi Wi-Fi and password are properly displayed on the Kindle but the Audi refuses to pair with the Kindle.

Tomorrow, I drive to the dealership for help.

Change the password for wifi to whatever you want. Remember it's case sensitive. Should work better.

I believe two different things are being discussed here. Are you trying to access the internet on the Kindle using the car's wifi or are you trying to listen to music from the Kindle using the car's bluetooth audio? These two functions are completely separate, each with its own set up. (Bluetooth phone, a third separate function, would not apply with the Kindle so it wouldn't be listed as compatible on Audi's list).

I wanted to use the A6 as my Wi-Fi access point using the Kindle as a computer. After many mistakes, I got it going the way I wanted it to work.

The problem was with the Audi password. I learned by trial and error that the Audi Wi-Fi Security Key found in setup is actually the password. Once I entered it in the Kindle when the Kindle asked for the password, the Audi and the Kindle paired.

Now, I am able to access local live TV, Cable TV as well as emails and all of the Kindle internet features while on the road.
