Anyone know where the Knock sensor location is on the 2008 2.0T Engine? Tried searching the net couldn't find anything good, and was trying to replace it before having to bring to a mechanic do it.

Yup. You got 2 sensors, one between cylinders 1 and 2 and the other between cylinders 3 and 4. They are on the side of the block under the intake manifold.
You can see both in this photo

As Eric stated, one on each side of the oil filter housing, both at the top of the oil filter housing. You may have to pull the intake manifold.

Thank you, yeah I hit up the local O'Reily's and noticed they had a Chilton Manual for $20, ended up buying it.
Was worried about having to torque it until I read its 15ft lbs...so hand tight..

Alternative to taking the intake off?
Someone mentioned remove oil cooler, oil filter/bracket. Any DIY for that?
To start troubleshooting, I (at least initially) just want to get the connector off and trace the wires back to the ECU (where are wires terminating? Both on ECU? Pins?)

Bump.
I am looking to do the same as vtraudt. I've got code P0327 signal too low for knock sensor 1 (G61) and trying to replace it without removing the intake, if possible.

I started with removing the oil cooler.
Then got to the bracket, but one bolt is covered by a mounting bracket/sheet metal stip. Tried to get the small tripesquare out, stripped. What now?
a) put everything back, and get to sensor by removing entire intake?
b) cut off bracket and continue (not sure what that bracket really holds)?

I'd say while you're in there, just replace both.
