I've had this sound of metal hitting together from the rear passenger side of my car. So I took off the tire and saw that the plate on my shock absorber has been rubbing against something. Could this be the source of the noise? The tire size on the car right now is 215/60/16 it was like that when I bought the car and the tires are new

There is a good thread about the differences in years engine wise. use the search function, in fact there was a thread on this main page 1 about all that. in short the ATW is a mixed / build. Only done this one year. Basically the head is the difference.

Your tires are a little too big for your car. I would assume that's the reason behind the noise.
