Idk about these cars but theres usually an adjustment for the striker to move it in and out

facelift will fit on pre-facelift just fine, IIRC. It does take a ridiculous amount of adjusting, though

The door hinges that are mounted to the car body itself can be adjusted.

There is no difference in door fitment between facelift and prefacelift.. Its in how you bolted it up and installed. There is wiggle room not only in the door but the actual glass frame also. So my advice is set the door so its perfect first then adjust the glass frame for tilt and left to right to seal at the top corners properly.

Not a very clever response. The pre-facelift and facelift doors fit EXACTLY the same way, the issues the OP's having are more to do with adjustment. Absolutely nothing to do with the chassis he / she's fitting the prefacelift doors to.

This is a community where knowledge is shared. Sarcarsm doesn't work, so if you don't know the answer to an issue posted, you simply sit back, read other responses, AND learn. Next time, you'll be the one who needs help, and will wonder why you're not getting any.

Sedan doors, pre-facelift or facelift will fit on an Avant. However, the window frames are not compatible. The Sedan has more of a sloping roofline, while that of the Avant is straight. You'll need to swap your Avant window frames over to the Sedan skins, and pay carefull attention to the adjustment washers / shims between the door skins and window frames.

Where exactly is said bracket or hinge that i adjust to move the door itself closer to the chassis?

Also here's a pic of the progress, doors look really good, can't say I have seen a cream facelift avant.

As you can see the sanding has begun. Plans are to sand the trim and roof rail down to unfinished aluminum and polish them since the s4 doors seem to have a slightly darker finish to the trim. Hope it turns out gud[wrench]

Looks like the adjustment on the hinge itself, loosen the bolts on the hinge a little, lift up on the door and tighten until its even.
